Commercial air conditioning across Sun Rising

About our commercial air conditioning in Sun Rising

Many sites need more than cooling. Air conditioning systems can heat as well as cool, and we also install ventilation and MVHR, so the building works as a whole. Common call-outs are for TM44 recommendations that need acting on and missing F-gas records for commercial systems, across multi-split systems, ducted systems and VRF systems.

If you run a village hall or similar building near Sun Rising, heating and cooling that warms up fast suits a space used on and off.

We are an F-Gas certified company, NICEIC approved for electrical work, with MCS certification for heat pumps and Checkatrade membership. Our engineers hold the F-gas qualifications needed to work on refrigerant.

What owners can safely do

There are a few things you can safely do yourself: keep the outdoor unit clear of leaves, plants and clutter, check the settings and the remote, and follow the cleaning the manual describes. Opening up the units, the electrics and the refrigerant circuit are a job for us.

Keep a note of anything odd: error codes, noises, drips, smells or a drop in performance. It makes our diagnosis quicker, and a photo or a short video of the display is even better.

FAQs for Sun Rising

Can I fit air conditioning in Sun Rising without planning permission?

There’s no single answer: the building and the outdoor unit position decide it. A conservation area takes in the middle of Sun Rising. Since 2025, an air-to-air heat pump on a house can count as permitted development if it meets the conditions and is not used only for cooling. Listed buildings still need consent, and in a conservation area a road-facing wall or roof is not allowed under those rules. If there’s any doubt, we ask the local planning authority (for Sun Rising, usually Cherwell council).

Is Sun Rising within the area you cover?

We do. Villages and hamlets get the same service as the bigger towns. Send a few details and photos, and we reply the same working day.

Who has to arrange F-Gas leak checks?

The F-gas rules share it between the equipment’s operator and the engineers who work on it. The interval depends on the refrigerant charge, measured in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e, and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e.

Do you work on systems someone else installed?

Yes. We look at it first and tell you what we find, including anything about the original installation that needs putting right. You get a fixed price before any work goes ahead.

Do you offer commercial maintenance contracts?

Yes, maintenance contracts cover servicing, F-gas leak checks and records. We agree the schedule and cost up front.

Why use an F-Gas certified company?

Anyone installing, repairing or servicing the refrigerant side must be qualified, and their company certified. Ask to see proof before booking anyone, and we’re happy to show ours.

How long does a commercial installation take?

An installation takes a matter of days for a modest fit-out, with larger buildings phased floor by floor or zone by zone. We confirm the timing after the survey, and you can phone 07833 053749 to book it.

The process

Protection comes first: sheets over the floor and any furniture nearby and nothing is moved without asking you. After that, anything electrical is made safe and we start. The work on site takes anything from a day or two for a small office to several weeks of phased work on a large building, and we tidy up before we leave. We agree a date with you and plan the visit to Sun Rising so we arrive with what’s needed.

  1. First comes a survey, looking at the building and how it’s occupied.
  2. You get our recommendation and a fixed price.
  3. The programme is agreed, including any out-of-hours or phased work.
  4. We install the units, pipework, drainage, electrics and controls.
  5. Commissioning and handover follow, with the F-gas records and manufacturer paperwork.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know if the units are on a roof, a high wall or in a locked area
  • Tell us about any building rules, permits or sign-in
  • Dig out any previous service or F-Gas records

Different systems, different jobs

Ducted systems

A ducted system hides the indoor unit and feeds air to the room through grilles. They suit spaces where a visible unit isn’t wanted, such as hotels, restaurants and shops.

Ceiling cassettes

Installing a cassette needs room in the void and a way to drain the water. Many have a built-in pump to lift the condensate and that’s checked when it’s serviced.

Keeping the system healthy

Looking after the system is mostly common sense. A few tips:

  • Do not wait for small faults to become breakdowns
  • Keep outdoor units clear of rubbish and stored goods
  • Tell us early about fit-outs or changes of use

For systems that require leak checks, the first date goes in the diary and can include it in a maintenance contract.

Replace ageing systems on your own timetable, particularly where they use R410A.

From one of our customers

“Excellent service from start to finish. Two wall-mounted units installed in our home. Clean, tidy work: they protected all the floors and left no mess. The systems work brilliantly. Would highly recommend.”
