Commercial air conditioning for homes and businesses in Ford
There’s no single best commercial system. Splits for small rooms, cassettes for open-plan ceilings, ducted for a hidden finish and VRF or VRV for many zones on one system. We set out the choices and the reasons behind our recommendation. The work covers VRF systems, server and comms room cooling and wall-mounted split systems, and people most often call us about leak check schedules that have slipped and systems that need out-of-hours or phased installation.
In a village like Ford, commercial air conditioning is typically for a pub, a shop, a surgery, a village hall or a rural business. Older buildings may be listed or in a conservation area, so we check the planning side first.
Equipment warranty comes from the manufacturer, on its own terms, and we explain those terms on your quote. Terms differ from brand to brand, and we are happy to talk you through them.

Ford: your questions answered
Is Ford in your area for commercial air conditioning?
Yes. Ford is one of the places we cover. Get in touch with the details and we reply the same working day.
Do you cover smaller places like Ford?
Yes, and the size of the place makes no difference to how we work. A few photos and the postcode are enough to get things started.
Can you look at a system you didn’t fit?
Yes. We work on systems fitted by other installers as well as our own, on all the main brands. Tell us the make and model and send any paperwork you have.
Who is responsible for leak checks?
Responsibility is shared between the operator, typically whoever owns or controls the equipment, and the service technicians. How often depends on the size of the refrigerant charge in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least yearly for 5 to under 50 tCO2e, and every 6 months for 50 to under 500 tCO2e.
What does F-Gas certified mean?
Anyone installing, repairing or servicing the refrigerant side must be qualified, and their company certified. It’s worth checking before you book, and we’re happy to show ours.
Can I do any of the installation myself?
Not the refrigerant work. The F-gas rules require certified companies and qualified engineers for it, and a new electrical circuit is notifiable building work unless a registered competent person does it.
Do you install in the evenings or at weekends?
Yes, we plan out-of-hours, weekend and phased installs so the business keeps running. We set out the timing before work starts.

Advice
Rented and managed buildings
Running several properties is easier with one contractor. Our area covers Greater London and the South East, so work at different addresses can be planned together and kept on a regular cycle.
The F-gas rules share responsibility for leak checking between the equipment’s operator and the service technicians. In a let or managed building, it’s worth agreeing who that operator is and we are happy to deal with whoever it is.
What the work involves, system by system
Hotels and schools
Schools often need installs during the holidays, with the programme agreed well in advance.
Shops and restaurants
For a discreet finish, ducted systems and cassettes are popular.
Cooling for Ford businesses
Ford is about 39 miles from central London, well within the area we cover from our base in East Grinstead. Ford Farmhouse, listed at grade II, is one of roughly 11 protected buildings and structures in the half-mile around Ford’s centre. Before any outdoor unit is fixed here, we find out whether the building is protected. Where it is, the local planning authority (normally Buckinghamshire council) has the final say on what’s allowed.
If you run a surgery, clinic or pharmacy in the area around St John's Hospital, about 1.8 miles north, cleanable, quiet units and regular maintenance matter. Commercial systems over 12 kW need a TM44 inspection at least every five years.
Ford is about 4 miles south-west of Aylesbury, in Buckinghamshire. We cover Ford for commercial air conditioning, along with the rest of Buckinghamshire. In Buckinghamshire alone we list 263 places, and Ford is one. The nearest of our city pages is London, around 39 miles from Ford.

Within a short drive, we also cover Aylesbury (4 miles north-east), High Wycombe (11 miles south-east), Chesham (12 miles east) and Marlow (15 miles south).

Keeping the system healthy
So the system stays in good health:
- Book a maintenance contract to keep servicing on schedule
- Report noises, leaks and faults early
- Track when the next TM44 inspection is due
Once the system is commissioned, we hand over the records, the controls and the manufacturer documents. They’ll be needed for servicing, leak checks and TM44 inspections.
Make sure filters are maintained and outdoor units have space. Restricted airflow puts strain on the whole system.
