The Haven air conditioning
Air conditioning for The Haven and the surrounding area: diagnosis first, then a fixed-price quote, the work and written records. Call for a fixed-price quote.
- Fans and portables that don’t keep up
- A loft conversion that’s too warm to use
- A system on old refrigerant that’s due for replacement
Before you call an engineer
Write down what you notice: error codes, noises, drips, smells or a drop in performance. It helps us diagnose quickly, and a photo or a short video of the display is even better.
Good habits make our visits easier, not unnecessary. Simple care keeps the air moving through the system, but the refrigerant circuit, the electrics and the parts you can’t see still need an engineer at the interval the manufacturer recommends.
How we handle air conditioning in The Haven
Good air conditioning starts with the right system in the right place. Each room is assessed for its size, windows, direction and how it’s used, and we agree the unit positions and the route for the pipes, cable and drain before you get a fixed-price quote. A lot of the calls we get from The Haven are about one room that is too hot to sleep or work in. A single-room split system is often the answer, from £1,200 + VAT.
Around The Haven, many people choose a system that heats as well as cools, which suits garden rooms, lofts and extensions that the main heating struggles with.
If a fault appears while the equipment is under the manufacturer’s warranty, tell us the make, model and installation date. We’ll explain how the manufacturer’s terms are likely to apply before any chargeable work goes ahead.

Why deal with it now?
Putting up with another summer of portable units and fans rarely makes sense. A properly installed split moves heat outside, keeps the noisy parts out of the room and most of the time heats too, so it works for you in winter as well. A dirty or faulty system works harder and costs more to run.
Typical ranges are on our prices page, but your price depends on the job in front of us. Call for a fixed-price quote, and we will talk you through it.

Pricing air conditioning in The Haven
A fixed price needs a few facts first. We look at:
- Whether the existing supply is suitable
- What state the existing equipment is in
- The number of rooms, units or zones
Putting the work off seldom saves money. Faults and wear in a system tend to grow, and a struggling system uses more electricity to do less. If you are unsure, ring 07833 053749 or drop us a line and we’ll give you an honest view and a fixed price.
Before you get in touch
A few details help us quote accurately. When you get in touch, it helps to send:
- Any previous service or F-Gas records
- The outdoor side of the property, including any roof or flat area
- Where the property is and what kind of building it is
Photos are enough for some jobs; others need a visit first. Multi-room systems, commercial buildings and anything with a long or hidden pipe route are normally surveyed first. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work is booked.
Your questions about air conditioning in The Haven
Do I need planning permission for air conditioning in The Haven?
There’s no single answer: the building and the outdoor unit position decide it. Historic England lists about 9 buildings and structures within half a mile of the centre of The Haven. Since 2025, an air-to-air heat pump on a house can count as permitted development if it meets the conditions and is not used only for cooling. Listed buildings still need consent, and in a conservation area a road-facing wall or roof isn’t allowed under those rules. If there’s any doubt, we ask the planning department at Horsham council, typically the authority for The Haven.
Is The Haven within the area you cover?
Yes. The Haven is within the area we cover across London and the South East. We’re based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.
Can I do the refrigerant work myself?
The refrigerant side has to be done by a qualified engineer working for an F-Gas certified company. That’s the law, not just our preference, and it also matters for the manufacturer’s warranty. We’re happy to quote for the full job, supply to commissioning.
Which type of air conditioning is best?
The right one depends on how many rooms you want to cool, how much space there is outside and how visible you want the indoor units to be. Ducted units need a void or loft, and cassettes need a suspended ceiling and the survey confirms what’s possible.
Which accreditations do you hold?
As the law requires for refrigerant work, we’re an F-Gas certified company. NICEIC approval, MCS certification for heat pumps and Checkatrade membership sit alongside it.
What warranty do I get?
Warranty comes from the manufacturer and depends on the brand and product. Daikin, for instance, gives a standard 2 years on split air conditioning and we explain the terms for your brand on the quote.
Do you work on all makes?
We install and work on the leading makes, from Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and Fujitsu to Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Send us the make and model if you have it.
How it works
Where something has to be switched off during the work, we agree it with you first, so you can plan around it. In a business, work can often be done one area at a time. On site, it takes about a day for a single-room system, longer for multi-room and ducted systems. Visits to The Haven are agreed with you in advance and planned so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.
- Diagnosis comes first, with a survey of the rooms, outside space and fuse board.
- Then the prescription: the right system and size for each room, on a fixed-price quote.
- Then the work: units up, pipes and drain run, and a new circuit where necessary.
- Testing: the circuit is pressure tested and evacuated before the refrigerant is released.
- The sign-off: commissioning, a walk through the controls, and the F-Gas records and warranty details.
Preparing for the visit
- Clear access to the fuse board
- Unlock any gate, garage or side passage we need
- Mention any managing agent or landlord rules we need to follow
Getting a quote
Here’s what helps us quote: the address and the type of property, a few pictures, the make and model of any existing system and any symptoms, from error codes to drips. Once you have those, call us on 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier.

Air conditioning in The Haven: the local picture
About 81% of households live in detached or semi-detached houses, according to the 2021 Census. With homes like that, finding a sensible outdoor unit position is rarely hard, and a multi-split lets two or more rooms run off it.
A system that heats as well as cools can also take the chill off a garden room or extension in winter. A loft bedroom or a glazed extension is often the room that prompts the first call.
