About our air conditioning in Thame
Any installation we do in Thame follows the same process as everywhere else we work: survey, fixed-price quote, a neat installation, full commissioning and the F-Gas paperwork. The price is fixed up front and the records are handed over at the end. Every installation in Thame begins with a look at the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go, followed by a fixed-price quote with the brand, model and every part of the job set out.
Thame has a mix of older and newer homes, and the walls decide a lot about the install. Older solid walls need more drilling than modern cavity walls, and a loft or a void can hide a pipe run that would otherwise be on show.
If a fault appears while the equipment is under the manufacturer’s warranty, tell us the make, model and installation date. We’ll explain how the manufacturer’s terms are likely to apply before any chargeable work goes ahead.

What happens on the day
You don’t need to do much on the day. Someone needs to let us in and show us the units, or where they’re going, and the rest is down to us. At the end, we tidy up and run through the work with you. Photos of the room and the outside wall help us plan a job in Thame.
- You send photos, or we visit and survey the rooms and outside.
- Each room is sized and the unit positions agreed, then you get a fixed-price quote.
- On the day, dust sheets go down and the indoor and outdoor units are fitted.
- We run and connect the pipes, cable and drain, then pressure test and evacuate the circuit.
- The system is commissioned, the controls explained and the F-Gas records handed over.
Before we arrive
- Let us know if the units are on a roof, a high wall or in a locked area
- Let us know where we can park and unload
- Plan for pets to be kept clear during the visit

Looking after your system
So the system stays in good health:
- Flag any change in how the system sounds or performs
- Keep the indoor unit’s filters clean
- Book an annual service
The handover includes the records you need: F-Gas records, commissioning details and the manufacturer’s warranty terms. Keep them with the manual as they’re needed for servicing and any warranty question.
Report drips, noises or error codes early. A drip, a noise or a flashing light is often an early sign of a fault and catching it early keeps the repair small.
Rented and managed buildings
We also work for facilities teams in offices, schools and public buildings across Oxfordshire. Larger buildings can be done in stages to keep disruption down.
Portfolio owners often want one contractor and one number. Our area covers Greater London and the South East, so work at different addresses can be planned together and kept on a regular cycle.
What else we do in Thame
Why act early in Thame
For a home or business in Thame, booking the survey now gives time to plan. Installation takes a day or more, depending on the number of rooms, the pipe routes and the access, and we agree a date that suits you after you’ve accepted the fixed price. It’s easier to plan the job in Thame before the warm weather arrives.
One room or a whole building, we price it on the same basis: the work involved, the access and the equipment. You’ll have a fixed price before any work starts, and the quote sets out the VAT.

Thame: your questions answered
Is Thame in your area for air conditioning?
We do: Thame falls inside our working area. To start, phone 07833 053749 or email us with a few photos.
Do I need planning permission for air conditioning in Thame?
It comes down to the building and the spot chosen for the outdoor unit. There’s a conservation area, the Thame Conservation Area, close to central Thame. An air-to-air system used for heating as well as cooling can be permitted development on a house if it meets the conditions, but a cooling-only unit isn’t covered, listed buildings need consent and conservation areas restrict outdoor units facing a road. Where needed, we check with the local planning authority (for Thame, typically South Oxfordshire council).
When will I hear back?
You’ll hear from us the same working day. For a breakdown that can’t wait, call our 24/7 emergency line.
Will you need to do electrical work?
Most of the time, yes: a dedicated circuit is needed. Adding a new circuit is notifiable building work under Part P unless it’s done by a registered competent person, and we’re NICEIC approved, so we can install and certify it.
Whose job is it to check the system for leaks?
The operator of the equipment, working with qualified engineers. Systems below 5 tCO2e fall outside the set leak check intervals, while larger ones need checks at least every 12 months, or every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We can tell you which band your system falls into.
Can we book visits on a schedule?
Yes. We offer maintenance contracts, set at the interval the system and the manufacturer’s terms need. Each visit is written up, with F-Gas records where refrigerant work is involved.
Do you look at the job first?
Yes, every time. Diagnosis comes before treatment: the survey shows what’s needed, where things go and what access we need, and the quote is based on that.

Older streets near Church of St Mary may fall within a conservation area, so we check the planning position before choosing where the outdoor unit goes. With historic houses such as Adwell House about 3.9 miles south, it’s a reminder that older homes nearby may be listed, which changes the planning rules.
