Fixed-price quotes for air conditioning in Sandhills

We quote each job individually. These are the things that affect it:

  • Which make and model is being fitted or worked on
  • The pipe route between the units
  • What state the existing equipment is in

Leaving a fault or an overdue service rarely makes the work cheaper. Faults and wear in a system tend to grow, and a system working harder than it should costs more to run. If you’re not sure what’s needed, phone us on 07833 053749 or send an email and we will give you an honest view and a fixed price.

What we need to know

When you call or email, these details help:

  • The outdoor side of the property, including any roof or flat area
  • The remote or wall controller showing any error
  • Wide pictures of the room or the existing unit

Published ranges are a starting point; the quote is built on your property, because no two buildings, rooms or systems are the same. After a look at the job, by pictures or a survey, the price is fixed. To get going, call 07833 053749 or send an email.

Air conditioning installation in Sandhills

Single-room systems are typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT, while a two-room multi-split is typically £2,800–£4,500 + VAT and three to five rooms £4,500–£8,500 + VAT. Those ranges include supply, installation, commissioning and F-Gas documentation, and commercial VRF systems are priced after a survey. Most split systems we fit in Sandhills are reversible: the Energy Saving Trust notes that air-to-air heat pumps are sometimes called air conditioning, so a system bought for summer earns its keep in winter too.

Around Sandhills, many people choose a system that heats as well as cools, which suits garden rooms, lofts and extensions that the main heating struggles with.

Equipment warranty comes from the manufacturer, on its own terms, and we explain those terms on your quote. Terms differ from brand to brand, so we go through them with you rather than leave you to find the small print.

Homes in Sandhills and air conditioning

Central Sandhills is inside the Sandhills, Witley Conservation Area. Historic England lists about 11 buildings and structures within half a mile of the centre of Sandhills, including Ivy Cottage (grade II). Before any outdoor unit is fixed here, we find out whether the building is protected. Where it is, the local planning authority (usually Waverley council) has the final say on what’s allowed. About 35% of homes across Sandhills and its surrounding area were built before 1919, according to Valuation Office Agency council tax records, and the 2021 Census found about 76% of households in detached or semi-detached houses. Older homes often have solid walls, which take longer to core drill, so we plan pipe routes carefully and keep them as discreet as we can. Detached and semi-detached houses typically have space for the outdoor unit, and several rooms can share one on a multi-split.

Close to Witley station? A small study or box room used for work can normally be cooled with a single indoor unit. Living close to Church of All Saints? Some older properties in parts like that are protected, and the survey finds out whether yours is.

Managing agents and facilities teams in Sandhills

Facilities teams in offices, schools and public buildings book us too in Sandhills and across Surrey. Work can be phased by floor, zone or building to keep disruption down.

We regularly work with managing agents. Tell us the property, the work and the access arrangements, and we will send a fixed-price quote.

What the work involves, system by system

Outdoor unit positions

We think about noise when we choose the spot: keeping it clear of bedrooms and boundaries where we can and fitted so vibration does not carry into the building. Position can also affect planning.

Wall-mounted split systems

Bedrooms, offices and living spaces are where wall-mounted units are most often fitted. The unit goes where it spreads the air well and the filters are easy to reach, and away from where the air would blow straight onto people.

What happens on the day

Refrigerant work is done by qualified engineers working for an F-Gas certified company, and electrical work is done by us as NICEIC approved contractors. So on the day, you do not need a separate electrician for the electrical side. On site, it takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system. For a place like Sandhills, the timing is set with you and the travel is our side of the planning.

  1. Diagnosis comes first, with a survey of the rooms, outside space and fuse board.
  2. Next, a recommendation for each room and a fixed price.
  3. Then the work: units up, pipes and drain run, and a new circuit where needed.
  4. Checks: a pressure test for leaks, then a vacuum to clear moisture.
  5. Finally, the clean bill of health: commissioning, the controls explained and your paperwork handed over.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know if the building has a permit or sign-in process
  • Mention any roof access, ladders or high-level work
  • Arrange for someone to be there to let us in

Ask for a quote

Photos are enough for some jobs; others need a visit first. Bigger systems, commercial sites and awkward pipe routes are normally surveyed on site. Either way, the quote is fixed before anything goes ahead.

Advice

Sandhills questions

Do you cover Sandhills for air conditioning?

Yes, Sandhills is within the area we cover. Tell us a little about the job and we’ll take it from there.

Will you come out to Sandhills?

We do. Villages and hamlets get the same service as the bigger towns. We are based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.

Can I do any of the installation myself?

Anything that involves the refrigerant needs an F-Gas qualified engineer from a certified company. That is the law, not just our preference, and it also matters for the manufacturer’s warranty. We’re happy to quote for the full job, supply to commissioning.

Is planning permission needed for the outdoor unit?

Not always. On a house, air-to-water heat pumps and, since 2025, air-to-air systems that heat as well as cool can be permitted development if they meet the conditions. Cooling-only units, listed buildings, flats and road-facing spots in conservation areas are where it normally comes up and the survey picks it up. This is general information, not legal advice.

How long does air conditioning installation take?

Most single-room systems take a day. Multi-split, ducted and cassette systems take longer and the quote says how long to expect.

Who is responsible for leak checks?

Whoever operates the equipment, together with the technicians who service it. Systems below 5 tCO2e fall outside the set leak check intervals, while larger ones need checks at least every 12 months, or every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We will work out which band applies to yours.

Can air conditioning heat my home as well?

Yes, most modern split systems run as heat pumps, so they heat as well as cool. The Energy Saving Trust points out that an air-to-air heat pump is often just called air conditioning. Some cooling-only models exist, so we confirm it for the model on your quote.

From one of our customers

“Excellent service from start to finish. Two wall-mounted units installed in our home. Clean, tidy work: they protected all the floors and left no mess. The systems work brilliantly. Would highly recommend.”
