Air con installers in Kempe's Corner

Air conditioning isn’t only for summer: most modern splits heat too. The Energy Saving Trust recognises that air-to-air heat pumps often go by the name air conditioning, and a well-chosen system can earn its keep all year round. For air conditioning in Kempe's Corner, you get one team and one number from survey to sign-off.

Sizing is where cheap installs go wrong: the survey covers room size, glazing, insulation and how the room is used, so the unit is not too big or too small.

Around Kempe's Corner, many people choose a system that heats as well as cools, which suits garden rooms, lofts and extensions that the main heating struggles with.

We’re an F-Gas certified company, NICEIC approved for electrical work, MCS certified for heat pumps and a Checkatrade member. Refrigerant work is done by engineers who hold the F-gas qualifications the law requires.

Rented and managed buildings

When the building owner and the occupier are different, it’s worth checking the agreement for who looks after the system. We can quote either party and send the records to whoever needs them.

Records are where property maintenance often slips. Each visit produces a dated record, plus the F-Gas records where refrigerant is involved, so you can show what was done and when.

What an install looks like in Kempe's Corner

The 2021 Census found about 65% of households in detached or semi-detached houses. With homes like that, finding a sensible outdoor unit position is rarely hard, and a multi-split lets two or more rooms run off it.

Around All Saints’ Church, a quick check of the listing and conservation maps is part of planning any install. Close to Wye station? A small study or box room used for work can typically be cooled with a single indoor unit.

What air conditioning won’t do

Not every problem is solved by air conditioning, and we’ll tell you before work begins. It won’t put right:

  • A lack of fresh air (most split systems recirculate room air rather than bringing fresh air in, which is a job for ventilation)
  • Heat loss through very poor insulation (a system will heat the room, but insulation is a separate job)
  • Work that needs permission from a landlord or the council

If in doubt, phone us on 07833 053749 or send an email and we will say what we think.

Where we work

  • Wall-mounted split systems
  • Ceiling cassettes
  • Ducted systems
  • Air-to-air heat pumps
  • Multi-split systems
  • VRF systems

What we do, step by step

Each visit runs to the same pattern: check the plan with you, put the dust sheets down, carry out the job, test what we have done and talk you through it. The visit itself takes about a day for a single-room system, longer for multi-room and ducted systems. We agree a date with you and plan the visit to Kempe's Corner so we arrive with what’s needed.

  1. You send pictures, or we visit and survey the rooms and outside.
  2. The system is sized, positions are agreed and the price is fixed.
  3. On the day, dust sheets go down and the indoor and outdoor units are fitted.
  4. Connections are made, checked for leaks and pulled down to a vacuum.
  5. The system is commissioned, the controls explained and the F-Gas records handed over.

How to prepare

  • Make sure we can reach the outdoor unit, or where it will go
  • Have the make and model of any existing unit to hand
  • Clear a path to the units and the space around them

Getting a quote

Photos are enough for some jobs; others need a visit first. Bigger systems, commercial sites and awkward pipe routes are normally surveyed on site. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work is booked.

Advice

How the job changes from property to property

Electrical supply

We check the consumer unit on the survey, so any extra electrical work is on the quote rather than a surprise on the day. An older board may need extra work, and we explain why if so.

Outdoor unit positions

Outdoor units are fitted on wall brackets, at ground level or on a flat roof, whatever suits the building and the route. It needs space around it to breathe and for an engineer to work on it.

Your questions about air conditioning in Kempe's Corner

Do I need planning permission for air conditioning in Kempe's Corner?

It depends on the property. The centre of Kempe's Corner is in a conservation area. An air-to-air system used for heating as well as cooling can be permitted development on a house if it meets the conditions, but a cooling-only unit isn’t covered, listed buildings need consent and conservation areas restrict outdoor units facing a road. Where necessary, we check with Ashford council, which is typically the planning authority for Kempe's Corner.

Is Kempe's Corner within the area you cover?

Yes. Kempe's Corner is within the area we cover across London and the South East. A few pictures and the postcode are enough to get things started.

Can we book visits on a schedule?

Yes. Send details of the systems and how they’re used and we will propose a schedule and quote for it. That can include the leak checks the F-gas rules require for larger systems.

How do you size the system?

Sizing is done on the survey, room by room. Too small, and it runs flat out; too big, and it switches on and off and wastes energy, so we explain why we’ve chosen a particular output.

Which accreditations do you hold?

We hold F-Gas company certification, which the law requires for any business working on refrigerant. We are also NICEIC approved, MCS certified for heat pumps and Checkatrade members.

How long does air conditioning installation take?

A single-room system is typically fitted in a day. Multi-split, ducted and cassette systems take longer, and we tell you how long on the quote.

Can I use air conditioning to heat a room?

Most of the time, yes: modern splits are usually heat pumps, so they can heat a room in winter. The Energy Saving Trust notes that air-to-air heat pumps are sometimes referred to as air conditioning. We confirm the heating function of the model we quote.

A customer’s words

“Excellent service from start to finish. Two wall-mounted units installed in our home. Clean, tidy work: they protected all the floors and left no mess. The systems work brilliantly. Would highly recommend.”
