Air con installers in Iping
A new system normally needs a dedicated circuit from the fuse board. Adding a new circuit is notifiable building work under Part P unless it’s done by a registered competent person, and our NICEIC approval means we install and certify it ourselves. If you want air conditioning in Iping, one call covers the survey, the fixed-price quote, the installation and the F-Gas paperwork, wherever you are in West Sussex.
Space outside is rarely the problem in a place like Iping. The questions are more often the age of the walls, the electrics and how far the pipes need to run.
If a fault appears while the equipment is under the manufacturer’s warranty, tell us the make, model and installation date. We’ll explain how the manufacturer’s terms are likely to apply before any chargeable work goes ahead.

Iping questions
Is air conditioning in Iping permitted development?
The answer turns on the property and where the outdoor unit would sit. Central Iping sits inside the Iping Conservation Area. Since 2025, an air-to-air heat pump on a house can count as permitted development if it meets the conditions and is not used only for cooling. Listed buildings still need consent, and in a conservation area a road-facing wall or roof is not allowed under those rules. If there’s any doubt, we ask Chichester council, which is typically the planning authority for Iping.
Is Iping within the area you cover?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We’re based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.
Do you offer emergency call-outs?
Yes, any time. If something urgent happens, like water coming from a unit or a critical room overheating, call our 24/7 line and we will tell you what to do first.
How much is air conditioning for one room?
Single-room systems start from £1,200 + VAT and are typically up to £2,200 + VAT. That covers supply, installation, commissioning and the F-Gas paperwork, and we fix it after a survey or from your pictures.
Is the equipment covered by a warranty?
The manufacturer’s warranty, on the manufacturer’s terms. Each brand sets its own conditions and periods, so we explain them on your quote.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. From a single let flat to offices, shops and public buildings, the approach is the same: a look first, a fixed-price quote and written records.
Can I use air conditioning to heat a room?
Usually, yes. A heat pump moves heat from the outside air into the room, so it gives out more heat than the electricity it uses. To replace your main heating, there are extra conditions, including for the £2,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant for air-to-air heat pumps.
How the visit works
Refrigerant work is done by qualified engineers working for an F-Gas certified company, and electrical work is done by us as NICEIC approved contractors. So on the day, you do not need a separate electrician for the electrical side. The work takes about a day for a single-room system, longer for multi-room and ducted systems. Photos of the room and the outside of the property help us plan a visit to Iping.
- We survey the property, or work from your pictures for a simple job.
- Output, positions and price are settled before anything is booked.
- We protect the area, then fit both halves of the system.
- Pipework, cable and drain are run, the circuit is connected and the pipework is pressure tested and evacuated.
- We commission, show you the controls and leave the F-Gas and warranty paperwork.
How to prepare
- Make sure someone can let us in at the agreed time
- Let us know where we can park and unload
- Let us know if the building has a permit or sign-in process

Advice

System by system
Outdoor unit positions
Where outside space is tight, the outdoor unit position shapes the whole design. We look at walls, roofs, balconies and yards on the survey, and tell you about any permissions you may need.
Multi-split systems
A multi-split runs several indoor units from one outdoor unit. It’s a neat answer when space outside is limited and several rooms need it and each indoor unit has its own controls.
How we price air conditioning
Jobs vary more than people expect. The main factors:
- What state the existing equipment is in
- The electrical supply and whether a new circuit is needed
- The type of system, from a single split to a larger system
Putting the work off seldom saves money. Small problems, from blocked filters to slow leaks, tend to get worse, and a system working harder than it should costs more to run. If you’re unsure, give us a ring on 07833 053749 and we will give you an honest view and a fixed price.
What we need to know
Photos let us diagnose from a distance. Try to include:
- Any error code or flashing light on the display
- The outdoor side of the property, including any roof or flat area
- The fuse board and where it is in the property
Photos are the fastest route to a quote: the room or the existing unit, the outside wall or roof where the outdoor unit sits or would go, and the label on any existing unit. Add the address and what you’d like done, and simple jobs can often be priced without a visit.
Keeping the system healthy
Looking after the system is mostly common sense. Our tips:
- Flag any change in how the system sounds or performs
- Use moderate settings for comfort and economy
- Have the system serviced once a year
If anything is not right after we’ve gone, call us on the same number. Let us know what’s happening and any error code, and we’ll talk it through with you.
Set it and leave it. Choose the right mode and a comfortable temperature rather than the lowest setting and keep doors and windows shut while it runs.
