Chitty air conditioning
Supply, installation and commissioning of air conditioning for homes and businesses, from one room to a whole building, in Chitty and nearby. Ask us for a fixed-price quote; we reply the same working day.
- A study or office that overheats during the day
- Too many options and no clear advice
- An office, shop or restaurant that is uncomfortable for staff and customers
What we do, step by step
Protection comes first: sheets over the floor and any furniture nearby, and we ask before moving anything. Then the electrics are made safe and the work begins. It takes a day for most single-room installations, with multi-split, ducted and cassette systems taking longer, and we tidy up before we leave. Seeing the property in photos first means the trip to Chitty can be planned properly.
- First the diagnosis: a survey of the rooms, the walls, the outside and the electrics.
- Then the prescription: the right system and size for each room, on a fixed-price quote.
- The treatment: units fitted, pipework and drain routed, and the electrics installed.
- Checks: a pressure test for leaks, then a vacuum to clear moisture.
- Finally, the clean bill of health: commissioning, the controls explained and your paperwork handed over.
Preparing for the visit
- Keep pets out of the rooms we are working in
- Clear the space around the indoor unit, or where it will go
- Mention any parking restrictions near the property
How to get a quote
Published ranges are a starting point; the quote is built on your property, because every property is different. After a look at the job, by pictures or a survey, the price is fixed. To start, phone 07833 053749 or email us.
Advice
Air con installers in Chitty
The best installations are planned before a single hole is drilled. Each room is assessed for its size, windows, direction and how it’s used, and we agree the unit positions and the route for the pipes, cable and drain before you get a fixed-price quote. A lot of the calls we get from Chitty are about one room that’s too hot to sleep or work in. That is normally a single wall-mounted split, from £1,200 + VAT.
Space outside is rarely the problem in a place like Chitty. The questions are more often the age of the walls, the electrics and how far the pipes need to run.
Whatever the visit, you get a written record: commissioning details and F-Gas records for a new system, a note of the fault and the fix for a repair, or a service record. File it with the manual so it’s to hand next time.

Chitty: your questions answered
Will you come out to Chitty?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Send a few details and photos, and we reply the same working day.
Does being near the sea make a difference to air conditioning in Chitty?
It can. Chitty is within about 3 miles of the coast, and salt air speeds up corrosion on outdoor units. The outdoor unit position, its fixings and regular servicing all help near the sea.
Can we book visits on a schedule?
Yes. Tell us what you have and how it’s used, and we will suggest a schedule with a fixed price. Leak checks required by the F-gas rules can be built in for larger systems.
How does the warranty work?
It’s the manufacturer’s warranty, which varies by brand. For instance, Daikin’s standard warranty on split air conditioning is 2 years, and we explain the terms for whichever brand you choose.
Which brands do you work with?
Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi and others. For new systems, we recommend a brand and model to suit the job and tell you why.
Do I need a new electrical circuit?
Normally, yes. We check your consumer unit on the survey and include any electrical work on the quote and we install and certify the circuit as NICEIC approved contractors.
Should I choose wall-mounted, ducted or cassette?
There’s no single best type. Wall-mounted splits suit single rooms, multi-splits run several rooms from one outdoor unit, ducted systems hide the unit in the ceiling, and cassettes suit offices and larger rooms. We recommend one on the survey and explain why.
Air conditioning in Chitty: the local picture
The coast is only about 3 miles from Chitty. Salt air is hard on outdoor units, so we site them out of the worst of the sea wind where we can, and can suggest models with corrosion-protected coils where the manufacturer offers them. Chitty’s centre falls inside the Chislet and Chitty Conservation Area. 4 conservation areas lie within a mile of central Chitty. About 9 listed entries lie within half a mile of central Chitty, Church of St Mary the Virgin (grade I) among them. None of this rules air conditioning out. It just means the planning position is checked before anyone suggests a spot for the outdoor unit. The 2021 Census found about 76% of households in detached or semi-detached houses. Houses typically have a side or rear wall with room for the outdoor unit, and a multi-split can serve several rooms from one outdoor unit.
Bedrooms under the roof and rooms with big sunny windows are typically the first to overheat, so they’re the usual place to start. Homes near Church of St Mary the Virgin are a good example of where we look up the heritage status of the building before fixing anything to it.

Aftercare tips
Looking after the system is mostly common sense. Our tips:
- File the paperwork with the manual
- Clean the filters every few weeks when the system is in heavy use
- Book an annual service
Commissioning is the last stage: every mode is tested before we go. We check it’s running as the manufacturer intends, then show you the controls and the timer so you know how to get the best from it.
Report drips, noises or error codes early. A drip, a noise or a flashing light is often an early sign of a fault and catching it early keeps the repair small.
What the work involves, system by system
Electrical supply
We check the consumer unit on the survey, so any extra electrical work is on the quote rather than a surprise on the day. An older board may need extra work, and we explain why if so.
Outdoor unit positions
The outdoor unit can go on a wall bracket, on the ground or on a flat roof, depending on the property and the pipe route. It needs space around it to breathe and for an engineer to work on it.
What happens if it’s left?
The outdoor unit’s position is worth getting right first time. A good position keeps noise down and leaves room for servicing, and it can affect whether planning permission is needed. We agree it with you on the survey. Planning ahead for a job in Chitty means we can bring everything needed.
Several rooms, units or sites on one quote often makes better use of the time. Tell us about everything you’d like looked at and we will price it together.

From one of our customers
“Office air con broke down in the July heatwave. Called at 8am, engineer was here by noon and fixed within 2 hours. Brilliant emergency response. They now hold the service contract for the whole building.”
