Air conditioning installation in Beltring, Kent
We cover Beltring for supply, installation and commissioning of air conditioning for homes and businesses, from one room to a whole building. Diagnosis first, a fixed price and proper paperwork when we finish.
- A loft conversion that’s too warm to use
- A home office that warms up with screens and equipment
- Portable units that are noisy and barely cope
What affects the quote in Beltring
Typical ranges are on our prices page, and your quote is built on your job. What we look at:
- How far the pipework has to run, and where
- What state the existing equipment is in
- Access, including height, roofs and ladders
Typical ranges are on our prices page, but each job is priced on what it involves. Call for a fixed-price quote, and we will explain what it covers.
What we need to know
Simple jobs can often be priced from photos and some basics. Send what you can of the following:
- The paperwork from the last service, if you have it
- Where the outdoor unit is, or where you’d like it
- The make and model of the system, from the label
Getting a quote is straightforward. Call or email with a few details and we will come back to you the same working day. Where a survey is needed, we arrange a time that suits you.
Air conditioning in Beltring
Wall-mounted, multi-split, ducted and cassette systems are all part of what we install, with VRF for larger buildings. Which one suits you depends on the space, the building and how much of the unit you want to see, and we explain the options on the survey. Every installation in Beltring begins with a look at the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go, followed by a fixed-price quote with the brand, model and every part of the job set out.
In a village like Beltring, many homes are older, and some are listed. We check that first, because permitted development doesn’t apply within the grounds of a listed building, and the outdoor unit position is chosen to suit the building.
If a fault appears while the equipment is under the manufacturer’s warranty, tell us the make, model and installation date. We’ll explain how the manufacturer’s terms are likely to apply before any chargeable work goes ahead.

Beltring questions
Will you come out to Beltring?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Send a few details and photos, and we reply the same working day.
Will air conditioning in Beltring need planning permission?
The answer turns on the property and where the outdoor unit would sit. The half-mile around the middle of Beltring holds about 8 listed buildings and structures. A system that heats as well as cools may not need an application on a house, provided it stays within the permitted development limits. Cooling-only units get no such allowance, and listed buildings and road-facing positions in conservation areas need more care. We speak to the local planning authority (for Beltring, normally Tonbridge and Malling council) when it matters.
Who is responsible for leak checks?
The F-gas rules share it between the equipment’s operator and the engineers who work on it. The interval depends on the refrigerant charge, measured in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least yearly for 5 to under 50 tCO2e, and every 6 months for 50 to under 500 tCO2e.
How do you keep the place clean during the work?
We start with protection: sheets over the floor and nearby furniture. Holes and fixings are agreed with you, and we clean up afterwards when we finish.
What accreditations do you have?
F-Gas company certification, NICEIC approval for electrical work and MCS certification for heat pumps, and we’re Checkatrade members. Engineers who handle refrigerant hold their own F-gas qualifications as well.
Can air conditioning heat my home as well?
Normally, yes. A heat pump moves heat from the outside air into the room, so it gives out more heat than the electricity it uses. If you want it to replace your main heating, ask about air-to-air heat pumps and the conditions for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant.
Does servicing affect my warranty?
For some brands, yes. Read the manufacturer’s terms, or send us the make and model and we’ll explain them and stick to the interval they set.
Homes in Beltring and air conditioning
About 69% of households live in detached or semi-detached houses, according to the 2021 Census. With homes like that, finding a sensible outdoor unit position is rarely hard, and a multi-split lets two or more rooms run off it.
Plenty of people near Beltring station split the week between the train and a spare room, and that spare room is often the first to get a unit. Around St Mary, a quick check of the listing and conservation maps is part of planning any install.

Looking after your system
Systems last better with the right care. We suggest:
- Book an annual service
- Never run the system with the filters out
- Shut doors and windows when it’s on
Commissioning is the last stage: every mode is tested before we go. Once it’s running properly, we take you through the controls and settings so you know how to get the best from it.
Do not ignore small changes. A drip, a noise or a flashing light is often an early sign of a fault and catching it early keeps the repair small.
What happens on the day
Anything involving refrigerant is handled by F-Gas qualified engineers, as the law requires, and electrical work is done by us as NICEIC approved contractors. So on the day, you don’t need a separate electrician for the electrical side. On site, it takes about a day for a single-room system, longer for multi-room and ducted systems. Visits to Beltring are agreed with you in advance and planned so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.
- Diagnosis comes first, with a survey of the rooms, outside space and fuse board.
- Then the prescription: the right system and size for each room, on a fixed-price quote.
- Then the work: units up, pipes and drain run, and a new circuit where needed.
- Before it runs, the pipework is proved tight and put under vacuum.
- Finally, the clean bill of health: commissioning, the controls explained and your paperwork handed over.
Getting ready for the visit
- Name a contact who can meet us at the agreed time
- Let us know where we can park and unload
- Let us know if the building has a permit or sign-in process

Before you call an engineer
Leave the units and pipework where they are. Disconnecting a system means dealing with refrigerant, which only a qualified engineer can do, and the electrical side needs a competent person. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.
There are a few things you can safely do yourself: keeping the outdoor unit clear, checking the mode and set temperature, and the routine cleaning in the manual. Opening up the units, the electrics and the refrigerant circuit are a job for us.
A customer’s words
“Very professional from the initial survey through to installation. The engineer explained everything clearly and the quote was exactly what we paid. Would not hesitate to recommend AirCon Doctor.”
