Air conditioning installation in Bagshot
Most modern split systems run as heat pumps, so they can heat as well as cool. The Energy Saving Trust notes that air-to-air heat pumps are sometimes referred to as air conditioning, so a well-chosen unit can be useful in winter as well as summer. Need an air conditioning installer for Bagshot? AirCon Doctor works across London and the South East from East Grinstead, with a fixed-price quote before any work starts.
Most single-room installs in Bagshot are done in a day, with multi-room systems taking longer depending on pipe routes, and we leave the room clean and the controls explained.
In a smaller place like Bagshot, most installs are in houses and cottages, often with gardens, which usually leaves room for an outdoor unit. The bigger questions are the wall construction and the route back to the consumer unit.
Any work on the refrigerant circuit is recorded: the work carried out, the refrigerant involved and the quantities. File them with the system’s paperwork, ready for the next service or a warranty query.

What the work involves, system by system
Multi-split systems
You can mix indoor unit types on many multi-split systems: a wall unit in one room, a ducted or floor unit in another, as the manufacturer allows. We plan the mix on the survey.
Offices, shops and commercial rooms
For bigger buildings, VRF systems link many indoor units to shared outdoor plant. Commercial and VRF systems are priced after a survey, with the design explained in the quote.
Aftercare tips
Looking after the system is mostly common sense. A few tips:
- Shut doors and windows when it’s on
- Don’t cover or box in the outdoor unit
- Never run the system with the filters out
An annual service keeps the system running efficiently, and some manufacturers make regular servicing a condition of their warranty. We will remind you when it’s due, so it doesn’t get forgotten.
Use sensible settings. A moderate set temperature cools the room just as well as the lowest one, without the waste and keep doors and windows shut while it runs.
Your questions about air conditioning in Bagshot
Is Bagshot in your area for air conditioning?
Yes, Bagshot is within the area we cover. Get in touch with the details and we reply the same working day.
Do I need planning permission for air conditioning in Bagshot?
There’s no single answer: the building and the outdoor unit position decide it. There’s a conservation area, the Bagshot Village Conservation Area, close to central Bagshot. Put simply: reversible systems on houses can be permitted development, cooling-only ones cannot, listed buildings need consent, and conservation areas limit outdoor units facing a road. When your property needs a decision, we contact Surrey Heath council, which is usually the planning authority for Bagshot.
Which brands do you work with?
We install and work on the leading makes, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Send us the make and model if you have it.
Do you offer maintenance contracts?
Yes. Send details of the systems and how they’re used and we will propose a schedule and quote for it. That can include the leak checks the F-gas rules require for larger systems.
Will you work on another installer’s system?
Yes. We look at it first and tell you what we find, including any issues with how it was fitted. You get a fixed price before any work goes ahead.
Does air conditioning work as heating?
Usually, yes. Running as a heat pump, it moves heat in from outside rather than making it from electricity alone. If you want it to replace your main heating, ask about air-to-air heat pumps and the conditions for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant.
Will you need to do electrical work?
Most of the time, yes: a dedicated circuit is needed. Adding a new circuit is notifiable building work under Part P unless it’s done by a registered competent person, and we’re NICEIC approved, so we can install and certify it.
What an install looks like in Bagshot
Census 2021 figures found about 66% of households in detached or semi-detached houses. With homes like that, finding a sensible outdoor unit position is rarely hard, and a multi-split lets two or more rooms run off it.
Homes near The Brook Church are a good example of where we look up the heritage status of the building before fixing anything to it. Plenty of people near Bagshot station split the week between the train and a spare room, and that spare room is often the first to get a unit.

What air conditioning can’t fix
Air conditioning cannot fix everything, and we’ll tell you before we start. It won’t put right:
- A room that can’t take an outdoor unit or pipe route without the landlord’s, management company’s or council’s consent (that consent comes first)
- Damp or condensation caused by leaks or poor ventilation in the building (that needs the cause fixing)
- A ventilation problem rather than a temperature problem
If in doubt, phone 07833 053749 or send an email and we’ll say what we think before booking.

How the visit works
There’s very little for you to do on the day. Someone needs to let us in and show us the units, or where they’re going, and we take it from there. Before we leave, the area is tidied and we explain what we’ve done. A few photos let us plan a visit to a place like Bagshot.
- First comes a site survey, or pictures and measurements for a straightforward job.
- Cooling loads are worked out room by room, and the written price names the make, the model and every position.
- On the day, we fit the indoor and outdoor units and run the pipework, cable and condensate drain.
- We connect the supply, pressure test the pipework and evacuate it before the refrigerant is released.
- We commission the system, show you the controls and leave the F-Gas records and the manufacturer’s warranty details.
Preparing for the visit
- Tell us about any building rules, permits or sign-in
- Keep pets out of the rooms we’re working in
- Clear a path to the units and the space around them
Getting a quote
VAT is set out clearly on every quote, and the rate that applies to your job is stated. Homes, businesses and different kinds of work can be treated differently for VAT, so we confirm it in writing rather than guess. For a fixed-price quote, ring 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier.
