Air conditioning servicing for homes and businesses in Two Mile Ash

Servicing does not mean topping up refrigerant. Refrigerant runs in a sealed circuit and shouldn’t need adding to. If the performance checks point to a leak, we explain the options for finding and fixing it rather than just topping up. We are often asked to deal with a unit showing a fault code and weaker cooling than last year, on ceiling cassettes, multi-split systems and ducted systems.

For most homes near Two Mile Ash, a service once a year keeps the system efficient and the filters clean, and regular servicing can be a condition of some manufacturers’ warranties.

Warranty on the equipment is the manufacturer’s own, on the manufacturer’s terms, and we set them out on your quote. Each brand sets its own conditions, and we are happy to talk you through them.

System by system

Refrigerant performance and leak checks

To find tCO2e, multiply the kg of refrigerant by its GWP and divide by 1,000. As an example, 3 kg of R32 comes to about 2.0 tCO2e, while 3 kg of R410A is about 6.3 tCO2e. We read the charge from the unit’s label and work it out for you.

Condensate drains and pumps

Drain trays can collect sludge. Cleaning them helps with drips and with musty smells.

Common questions in Two Mile Ash

How often do you service systems in Two Mile Ash?

For most homes, once a year. Check your manufacturer’s warranty terms too, as some of them make regular servicing a condition.

Is Two Mile Ash in your area for air conditioning servicing?

Yes. We work across London and the South East from our base in East Grinstead, and Two Mile Ash is part of that. Tell us a little about the job and we will take it from there.

Can you look at a system you didn’t fit?

Yes. We work on systems fitted by other installers as well as our own, on all the main brands. Send us the make and model, and any records you have.

Can we book visits on a schedule?

Yes. Maintenance contracts are part of what we do, set at the interval the system and the manufacturer’s terms need. Every visit is recorded, with F-Gas records where refrigerant work is involved.

Why does F-Gas certification matter?

For refrigerant work, both the engineer and the company need the right F-gas credentials. It’s worth checking before you book, and we’re happy to show ours.

Can I do any of the installation myself?

Not the refrigerant work. Under the F-gas rules, it must be done by qualified engineers from a certified company, and a new circuit is notifiable under Part P unless a registered electrician, such as a NICEIC approved contractor, does it.

Will servicing keep my manufacturer’s warranty valid?

Warranty terms are set by the manufacturer, not by us. Read the conditions for your brand, as they may include servicing and file every service record.

What we do, step by step

If the system has to be off for part of the visit, we tell you before any work starts so it doesn’t catch you out. For businesses, we can typically work room by room or zone by zone. On site, it takes anything from an hour for a simple split system to most of a day for a larger installation. Around Two Mile Ash, access is usually simple, though gates and garden access are worth mentioning.

  1. You tell us the brand, the number of indoor units and any symptoms.
  2. Each indoor unit has its covers lifted so the filters, coil and tray can be cleaned.
  3. The outdoor unit gets its own clean, with leaves and debris cleared away.
  4. Electrical connections, controls and refrigerant performance are tested.
  5. We explain what we found and price any repair before it’s done.

Before we arrive

  • Name a contact who can meet us at the agreed time
  • Find the manual or the paperwork for the system, if you have it
  • Unlock any gate, garage or side passage we need

What you can do yourself, and what needs us

For air conditioning, cleaning the indoor unit’s filters is the main job owners can do, if the manual says so. With the power off, they lift out, can be vacuumed or rinsed and must be fully dry before they go back. On a heat pump, the equivalent is keeping the outdoor unit clear and checking the controls.

Write down what you notice: error codes, noises, drips, smells or a drop in performance. It makes our diagnosis quicker, and a photo of the display helps even more.

When it’s something else

Air conditioning servicing can’t fix everything, and we’ll tell you before any work starts. It will not put right:

  • A refrigerant leak, which needs finding and repairing, not topping up
  • Major component failures that call for a repair visit
  • Cooling capacity that does not match the space

If in doubt, ring 07833 053749 or drop us a line and we will say what we think before you book.

What a customer said

“Office air con broke down in the July heatwave. Called at 8am, engineer was here by noon and fixed within 2 hours. Brilliant emergency response. They now hold the service contract for the whole building.”
