Air conditioning servicing near Nursling

Air conditioning servicing for homes and businesses in Nursling

An annual service is £95–£150 + VAT, and we confirm the figure before we book you in. Multi-split, ducted and commercial systems are priced once we know what’s there. There’s no guessing at the bill afterwards. The work covers air-to-air heat pumps, wall-mounted split systems and ducted systems, and the jobs we see most are noisy fans or rattling from the outdoor unit and frost or ice on the refrigerant pipes.

In a place like Nursling, the outdoor unit often sits near a garden, hedge or trees, which can clog the outdoor coil. Every service includes cleaning it.

The records are your system’s health record: a dated account of the work and the readings we took. It makes the next visit quicker and any warranty question simpler and it’s worth keeping safe.

Nursling: your questions answered

How often do you service systems in Nursling?

Once a year suits most home systems. Some manufacturers’ warranty terms ask for regular servicing, so it’s worth keeping the records.

Does sea air affect air conditioning in Nursling?

It can. Nursling is within about 2 miles of the coast, and salt air speeds up corrosion on outdoor units. A yearly service that rinses and checks the outdoor coil matters more near the sea.

Are you F-Gas certified?

As the law requires for refrigerant work, we are an F-Gas certified company. We are also NICEIC approved, MCS certified for heat pumps and Checkatrade members.

Is there a survey before the work?

Yes, every time. We diagnose before we treat: the survey shows what’s needed, where things go and what access we need, and the quote is based on that.

Why use an F-Gas certified company?

Certification shows a business is approved to work on systems that hold F gas refrigerant. That isn’t optional: it’s required by law, and we hold it.

Does my air conditioning need an F-gas leak check?

The requirement starts at 5 tCO2e. Many small split systems fall below it: 3 kg of R32, for instance, is about 2.0 tCO2e. We read the charge from the label and work it out for you.

Do you offer emergency call-outs?

Yes, 24/7. Call the emergency line and tell us the make, the symptoms and any error code, and we will advise on what to do next.

The process

The first job on site is protection: sheets over the floor and any furniture nearby, and we ask before moving anything. After that, anything electrical is made safe and we start. It takes an hour or so for a single wall-mounted unit, longer for a multi-split system, and we clear up before we go. Everything the job in Nursling needs is worked out beforehand.

  1. It begins with a few questions about the make, the rooms served and any symptoms.
  2. Inside, the filters, coil and drain tray of each indoor unit are cleaned.
  3. The outdoor unit gets its own clean, with leaves and debris cleared away.
  4. Readings are taken on the electrics and refrigerant circuit, and the controls are tried in each mode.
  5. Anything we find is explained, with a fixed price if it needs a repair.

Preparing for the visit

  • Arrange for someone to be there to let us in
  • Plan for pets to be kept clear during the visit
  • Make sure we can reach the consumer unit or fuse board

Advice

Safe owner checks

For air conditioning, cleaning the indoor unit’s filters is the main job owners can do where the manufacturer’s manual explains how. With the power off, they lift out, can be vacuumed or rinsed and must be fully dry before they go back. On a heat pump, the equivalent is keeping the outdoor unit clear and checking the controls.

Owner care supports servicing; it does not replace it. Clean filters and a clear outdoor unit help the system run as it should, but the refrigerant circuit, the electrics and the parts you cannot see still need an engineer at the interval the manufacturer recommends.

When to call us in Nursling

Dust settles on the filters every time the unit is on. Clogged filters choke the airflow, the coil can get too cold and the room takes longer to cool or warm.

These are the situations we see most often:

  • A system that struggles to cool on warm days
  • Systems that haven’t been serviced for a while
  • Ice forming on the pipework or outdoor unit

Spring is a good time for a service, before the system is needed for cooling.

Before you book anyone

  • Whose warranty applies, and on what terms
  • Whether testing, commissioning and paperwork are included
  • If the figure could change on the day

For landlords and property managers

Under the GB F-gas rules, responsibility for leak checks is shared between whoever operates the equipment and the engineers who work on it. In a let or managed building, it’s worth agreeing who that operator is and we’re happy to deal with whoever it is.

Landlords, letting agents and managing agents book us, not only the people who live or work in the property. Let us know who will give us access and who the records should go to and we will copy in whoever needs it.
