About our air conditioning servicing in Lidsey

For an annual service, the price is £95–£150 + VAT, confirmed before the visit is booked. Multi-split, ducted and commercial systems are priced once we know what’s there. There’s no guessing at the bill afterwards. The work covers VRF systems, ducted systems and multi-split systems, and common reasons people get in touch are noisy fans or rattling from the outdoor unit and frost or ice on the refrigerant pipes.

For a home in or near Lidsey, a service once a year suits most systems, best done before summer.

Looking after a system is mostly common sense: clear space around the outdoor unit, the cleaning the manual describes and a service at the recommended interval. It also keeps you on the right side of any warranty terms that ask for servicing.

Owner checks or an engineer?

Owner care supports servicing; it does not replace it. Clean filters and a clear outdoor unit help the system run as it should, but the refrigerant circuit, the electrics and the parts you cannot see still need an engineer at the interval the manufacturer recommends.

Refrigerant is off limits for anyone without the right qualifications. The law requires anyone working on equipment containing F gas to hold the right qualifications, and the company to be certified, and refrigerant lines can cause cold burns. If you suspect a leak, switch the system off and call us.

The process

We keep the work area tidy as we go, with sheets down and mess cleared as we go. If we need to drill through a wall, we agree the spot with you first. On site, it takes around an hour for one indoor and one outdoor unit, with extra time for each additional indoor unit. We plan the trip to Lidsey around you.

  1. You tell us the brand, the number of indoor units and any symptoms.
  2. Each indoor unit has its covers lifted so the filters, coil and tray can be cleaned.
  3. Outside, the coil is cleaned, the fan checked and the area cleared.
  4. We test the electrics, the controls and how the refrigerant circuit is performing.
  5. If a repair is needed, you hear why and what it costs before anything is done.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about access, such as roof hatches, high walls or locked plant areas
  • Clear a path to the units and the space around them
  • Make sure someone can let us in at the agreed time

Lidsey: your questions answered

Do you cover smaller places like Lidsey?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We’re based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.

How often do you service systems in Lidsey?

A yearly visit is right for most households. Larger systems holding 5 tonnes CO2 equivalent or more also need a leak check at least every 12 months under the F-gas rules.

Can I do any of the installation myself?

The refrigerant side has to be done by a qualified engineer working for an F-Gas certified company. That’s the law, not just our preference, and manufacturers expect it for their warranty too. We are happy to quote for the full job, supply to commissioning.

What’s included in an air conditioning service?

Both the indoor and outdoor units are checked and cleaned: filters, coils, drains and fans, then the electrics, the controls and how the refrigerant circuit is performing. A service record follows.

Do you work on commercial properties?

Yes. From a single let flat to offices, shops and public buildings, the approach is the same: a look first, a fixed-price quote and written records.

Which brands do you work with?

We work with the leading brands, from Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and Fujitsu to Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Send us the make and model if you have it.

Who is responsible for leak checks?

Responsibility is shared between the operator, usually whoever owns or controls the equipment, and the service technicians. The interval depends on the refrigerant charge, measured in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e, and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e.

Landlords, agents and facilities managers

Landlords, letting agents and managing agents book us, not only the people who live or work in the property. Tell us who the contact on site is and who should receive the paperwork and we’ll copy in whoever needs it.

From a single flat to a whole estate, you get the same standard: diagnosis, a fixed price, access agreed with the people on site and paperwork at the end.

Keeping systems in Lidsey running

The coast is only about 3 miles from Lidsey. Coastal outdoor units are worth checking for corrosion at every service. VOA council tax data show about 35% of homes in the Lidsey area were built in 2000 or later, and about 71% of households live in detached or semi-detached houses, according to the last census (2021). Let us know where the outdoor unit sits and whether a ladder is needed to reach it.

Schools such as Aldingbourne Primary School can book servicing for half term or the summer break, when rooms are empty. If you cannot remember the last service, it’s probably due.

From one of our customers

“Office air con broke down in the July heatwave. Called at 8am, engineer was here by noon and fixed within 2 hours. Brilliant emergency response. They now hold the service contract for the whole building.”
