Air conditioning servicing for homes and businesses in Findon Valley
A service is as much a check-up as a clean. The engineer checks fans, pipe insulation, controls and electrical connections, then explains anything that looks like it could cause a problem later. The work covers ceiling cassettes, air-to-air heat pumps and VRF systems, and the jobs we see most are no service record for the last year or more and an unpleasant odour when the system runs.
A yearly service suits most systems around Findon Valley, and some manufacturers’ warranty terms ask for regular servicing.
Warranty on the equipment is the manufacturer’s own, on the manufacturer’s terms, and we set them out on your quote. Terms differ from brand to brand, so we go through them with you rather than leave you to find the small print.

Do you need air conditioning servicing in Findon Valley?
Condensate has to drain away from every indoor unit. Sludge and debris can block the tray, the pipe or the pump and the result is drips from the indoor unit.
Any of these is worth a proper look:
- Condensate leaking into the room
- Smells coming from the indoor unit
- Warning lights on the indoor unit
Site managers at schools like Vale School can have the site’s units serviced during a holiday.

Questions from Findon Valley
How often do you service systems in Findon Valley?
A yearly visit is right for most households. Business systems may also need F-gas leak checks, at least every 12 months from 5 tonnes CO2 equivalent.
Is Findon Valley in your area for air conditioning servicing?
Yes. Findon Valley is one of the places we cover. To start, phone us on 07833 053749 or email us with a few pictures.
Who has to arrange F-Gas leak checks?
Whoever operates the equipment, together with the technicians who service it. Larger systems need regular checks: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We can tell you which band your system falls into.
Will you regas my air conditioning on a service?
The service checks how the refrigerant circuit is performing, but doesn’t include adding gas. If gas has been lost, the right step is a leak search and repair, then a regas with a fixed price for each step.
Can I fit air conditioning or a heat pump myself?
Anything that involves the refrigerant needs an F-Gas qualified engineer from a certified company. That is a legal requirement, and manufacturers expect it for their warranty too. We can quote for the whole job, from supply to commissioning.
Will you make a mess?
Floors and furniture near the work are covered with dust sheets before any work starts, and we tidy up as we go. At the end, we clear up and show you what we’ve done.
Is there a survey before the work?
Yes. Every job is looked at first, on a survey, or from your photos and details where the job is simple. Then you get a fixed-price quote.
Rented and managed buildings
We also work for facilities teams in offices, schools and public buildings across West Sussex. Larger buildings can be done in stages to keep disruption down.
For anyone managing more than one building, we can plan visits across the portfolio and price them together. Each property gets its own records, so each one has its own history.
What air conditioning servicing cannot fix
Air conditioning servicing cannot fix everything, and we’ll tell you before any work starts. It won’t put right:
- A system that’s too small for the room it serves
- Heat gains the system was never sized for
- A failed compressor, fan motor or circuit board, which needs a repair
Not sure which it is? You can call 07833 053749 or write to us at info@aircondoctor.co.uk and we’ll tell you honestly.
What the work covers
- VRF systems
- Air-to-air heat pumps
- Wall-mounted split systems
- Ducted systems
- Multi-split systems
- Ceiling cassettes
The process
If the system has to be off for part of the visit, we tell you before we start so it does not catch you out. For businesses, we can normally work room by room or zone by zone. The work takes anything from an hour for a simple split system to most of a day for a larger installation. Around Findon Valley, access is normally simple, though gates and garden access are worth mentioning.
- We start with the details of the system and anything you’ve noticed.
- Each indoor unit has its covers lifted so the filters, coil and tray can be cleaned.
- Outside, the coil is cleaned, the fan checked and the area cleared.
- Readings are taken on the electrics and refrigerant circuit, and the controls are tried in each mode.
- Anything we find is explained, with a fixed price if it needs a repair.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know if the units are on a roof, a high wall or in a locked area
- Clear the space around the indoor unit, or where it will go
- Clear access to the fuse board
