Air con servicing in Englefield
Our engineers work in Englefield on air conditioning servicing. Diagnosis first, a fixed price and proper paperwork when we finish.
- Frost or ice on the refrigerant pipes
- Water dripping from the indoor unit
- New noises from the indoor or outdoor unit
Rented and managed buildings
Under the GB F-gas rules, responsibility for leak checks is shared between whoever operates the equipment and the engineers who work on it. In a let or managed building, it’s worth agreeing who that operator is, and we can work for either side.
We regularly work with managing agents. Send the address, what’s needed and how access works, and we’ll send a fixed-price quote.
Air conditioning servicing in Englefield
Some systems need F-gas leak checks by law, and some don’t. GOV.UK sets the frequency by the system’s tonnes of CO2 equivalent (tCO2e): at least every 12 months from 5 to under 50 tCO2e, and every 6 months from 50 to under 500 tCO2e. We work out where your system sits and check it accordingly. We are often asked to deal with weaker cooling than last year and leak check records that need bringing up to date, across ceiling cassettes, ducted systems and air-to-air heat pumps.
Most systems around Englefield need servicing once a year, best done before summer.
We’re an F-Gas certified company, NICEIC approved for electrical work, with MCS certification for heat pumps and Checkatrade membership. Our engineers hold the F-gas qualifications needed to work on refrigerant.

The process
The visit has three parts, a bit like a doctor’s appointment: look, put right and sign off. First we check the system or the space against the plan, then the work itself, and finally everything is tested, recorded and explained. Most of the time goes on the middle part, and that takes anything from an hour for a simple split system to most of a day for a larger installation. Visits to Englefield are agreed with you in advance and planned so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.
- We book a time that suits you and confirm the price.
- The engineer runs the system and checks how it’s performing.
- Then the cleaning: filters, coils, fan and the drain line.
- Electrical and refrigerant checks follow, including a leak check if the rules require one.
- We run the system again and leave you a service record.
Before we arrive
- Let us know where we can park and unload
- Clear the space around the indoor unit, or where it will go
- Mention any managing agent or landlord rules we need to follow
Getting a price
Photos are enough for some jobs; others need a visit first. Bigger systems, commercial sites and awkward pipe routes are normally surveyed on site. Either way, the quote is fixed before anything goes ahead.

Common questions in Englefield
Can you do air conditioning servicing in Englefield?
Yes. Englefield is one of the places we cover. Get in touch with the details and we reply the same working day.
How often should air conditioning in Englefield be serviced?
A yearly visit is right for most households. Business systems may also need F-gas leak checks, at least every 12 months from 5 tonnes CO2 equivalent.
Does the manufacturer’s warranty require regular servicing?
The warranty comes from the manufacturer, on its own terms. Read the conditions for your brand, as they may include servicing, and keep each service record with the warranty paperwork.
Do you offer air conditioning maintenance contracts?
We do. A contract sets out how often we visit and what each visit covers, at a fixed price agreed with your quote. It takes the scheduling off your plate.
Can I do any of the installation myself?
Anything that involves the refrigerant needs an F-Gas qualified engineer from a certified company. That is the law, not just our preference, and manufacturers expect it for their warranty too. We’re happy to quote for the full job, supply to commissioning.
How long will the engineer be here for the service?
The visit takes an hour or so for a single wall-mounted unit, longer for a multi-split system. Any repair found on the day is priced and agreed before it’s done, and you can call 07833 053749 or email us to book.
What do you check on an air conditioning service?
A full clean and check of the system. Filters, coils and drains are cleaned, and the electrics, controls and refrigerant circuit checked, and F-gas leak checks where they apply.
Keeping the system healthy
Aftercare is straightforward, and it makes the next visit easier:
- Check the condensate pipe outside isn’t blocked or crushed
- Read the warranty conditions for your brand
- Keep the service records with the warranty paperwork
A maintenance contract takes the scheduling off your hands. We agree the visits and the cost up front so you don’t have to remember.
Act on the early signs. Odd noises, smells and drips are cheaper to sort out before they grow than once the system has stopped.
What you can do yourself, and what needs us
Owner care supports servicing; it doesn’t replace it. Clean filters and a clear outdoor unit help the system run as it should, but the refrigerant circuit, the electrics and the parts you cannot see still need an engineer at the interval the manufacturer recommends.
Refrigerant is off limits for anyone without the right qualifications. Under the F-gas rules, engineers need their own qualifications and the company must be certified, and refrigerant lines can cause cold burns. A suspected leak is our job, not yours.
Keeping systems in Englefield running
Central Englefield is inside the Englefield Conservation Area. Church of St. Mark, listed at grade I, is one of roughly 16 protected buildings and structures in the half-mile around Englefield’s centre. That only matters for replacements, where a new outdoor unit on a protected building can need consent. About 43 miles out from central London, Englefield is part of the South East area we work across.
If you cannot remember the last service, it’s probably due. If you look after a school such as Englefield C.E. Primary School, servicing is easiest in the holidays.

A customer’s words
“Office air con broke down in the July heatwave. Called at 8am, engineer was here by noon and fixed within 2 hours. Brilliant emergency response. They now hold the service contract for the whole building.”
