Air Conditioning Repair in Horsted Keynes
Need air conditioning repair in Horsted Keynes? We look at the job first, give you a fixed-price quote and do the work at a time that suits you, then sign it off with written records.
- A system that needs topping up again
- A system that runs but doesn’t cool the room
- An error code or flashing light on the unit
After we have gone
A little care keeps the system in better shape. We recommend:
- Leave space around the outdoor unit
- Check the filter, the mode and the set temperature before calling us
- Switch the unit off if water is leaking from it
Where a repair isn’t worth doing, we say so, with the reasons. If replacement is the better option, we can quote for it on the same visit.
Filter cleaning is the simplest prevention there is. Blocked filters cut airflow, which can lead to poor cooling, ice on the coil and drips, so keep them clean as the manual describes.
Air conditioning repair in Horsted Keynes, done properly
A diagnosis call-out is from £75 + VAT. Once we know the cause, you get a fixed price for the repair before any work goes ahead and nothing goes ahead without your say-so. If you are dealing with ice on the pipework or the coil and water dripping from the indoor unit, we can sort it out.
Around Horsted Keynes, repairs tend to be home systems, garden rooms and a few businesses. Describe the fault and send a photo of the unit’s label so we can plan the visit.

How it works
Everything the job needs comes with us, from tools and test equipment to ladders and dust sheets. You only need to give us clear access to the units, or their planned positions, and to the fuse board. On site, the work takes as long as the fault needs, from a quick fix to a return visit for parts. Work in Horsted Keynes is booked in advance at a time that suits you.
- You describe the fault, the make and any error code, ideally with a photo.
- The engineer reads the fault codes and checks the electrics, airflow, drain and refrigerant circuit.
- Nothing is repaired until you’ve heard what’s wrong and agreed a fixed price.
- The repair is carried out, and any refrigerant work is leak tested and recorded.
- Finally the system is tested in operation and you get a note of the fault and the fix.
Getting ready for the visit

Your questions about air conditioning repair in Horsted Keynes
Is Horsted Keynes in your area for air conditioning repair?
We do: Horsted Keynes falls inside our working area. Tell us a little about the job and we will take it from there.
Is there an emergency air con repair line for Horsted Keynes?
Horsted Keynes is within our area, and the emergency line is open 24/7. A diagnosis call-out starts from £75 + VAT, and knowing the brand and the symptoms helps us plan it.
Why use an F-Gas certified company?
F-Gas certification shows a company is approved to work on equipment containing fluorinated gases, such as the refrigerant in air conditioning and heat pumps. That is not optional: it’s required by law, and we hold it.
How much is an air conditioning call-out?
It starts with a diagnosis call-out from £75 + VAT, and then you get a fixed price for the repair. Nothing goes ahead without your agreement.
Do you work on all makes?
We install and work on the leading makes, from Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and Fujitsu to Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Tell us the make and model and we will take it from there.
Who is responsible for leak checks?
The F-gas rules share it between the equipment’s operator and the engineers who work on it. How often depends on the size of the refrigerant charge in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least yearly for 5 to under 50 tCO2e, and every 6 months for 50 to under 500 tCO2e.
What causes water to leak from an air conditioning unit?
Most leaks come from a blocked drain, a failed pump or a unit that has dropped out of level. Ice that forms on the coil and melts can cause drips too. Turn it off and phone 07833 053749 or use the quote form.

Owner checks or an engineer?
Owners can handle the everyday basics: keeping the outdoor unit clear, checking the mode and set temperature, and the routine cleaning in the manual. Anything inside the units, the electrics and the refrigerant is engineer’s work.
For air conditioning, cleaning the indoor unit’s filters is the main job owners can do where the manufacturer’s manual explains how. They come out, get a gentle clean and go back only when they’re dry. On a heat pump, the equivalent is keeping the outdoor unit clear and checking the controls.
