Air conditioning repair for Frating

Air conditioning repair for homes and businesses in Frating

Not sure whether it’s worth calling an engineer? A quick check of the filter, settings and remote can rule out the simple causes, and if that doesn’t fix it, phone us on 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier. We reply to enquiries the same working day. If you’re dealing with a unit that barely blows any air and water dripping from the indoor unit, we can sort it out.

Around Frating, repairs tend to be home systems, garden rooms and a few businesses. Describe the fault and send a photo of the unit’s label so we can plan the visit.

Equipment warranty comes from the manufacturer, on its own terms, and we explain those terms on your quote. Terms differ from brand to brand, so we go through them with you rather than leave you to find the small print.

Honest limits

Not every problem is solved by air conditioning repair, and we’ll tell you before work begins. It does not solve:

  • A discontinued model with no parts available
  • An R22 system that has lost its refrigerant
  • A room that overheats because of the building, such as a lack of shading or ventilation (the system may need help, not a repair)

If you’re not sure, just phone us on 07833 053749 or use the quote form and we will give you a straight answer.

Where we work

Questions from Frating

Do you cover Frating for emergency air conditioning repairs?

Frating is within our area, and the emergency line is open 24/7. Say what the system is doing and whether it shows a code, and we will advise on the next step.

Is Frating within the area you cover?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. A few photos and the postcode are enough to get things started.

Can you set up regular servicing?

Yes. We offer maintenance contracts, set at the interval the system and the manufacturer’s terms need. Each visit is recorded, with F-Gas records where refrigerant work is involved.

My system uses R410A. Can it still be repaired?

Yes. Repairing and recharging existing R410A systems is still legal. R410A is getting scarcer and dearer to buy as the GB phase-down tightens, so for older systems we compare the cost of a repair with a replacement.

Which brands do you work with?

The main ones, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. For new systems, we recommend a brand and model to suit the job and explain why.

My air con is showing an error code. What should I do?

The code is the system’s own clue to the fault, but testing confirms the cause. Write down the code and turn the unit off if it has stopped, then call 07833 053749 or write to us at info@aircondoctor.co.uk.

What warranty do I get?

The manufacturer provides it, on its own terms. Some brands make regular servicing a condition, so keep your service records.

Air conditioning repair in Frating: the local picture

Frating is within about 3 miles of the coast. Salt air speeds up corrosion on outdoor coils and connections, which is one of the things we check on a repair. Frating Hall, listed at grade II, is one of roughly 7 protected buildings and structures in the half-mile around Frating’s centre. That only matters for replacements, where a new outdoor unit on a protected building can need consent. Valuation Office Agency council tax records date about 40% of homes in Frating and the neighbourhoods around it to the post-war years, 1945 to 1972, and about 89% of households live in detached or semi-detached houses, according to the last census (2021). Access to the outdoor unit is the one detail that most changes how a visit is planned.

A photo of the error code and the unit’s rating label helps us plan the repair. Dirty filters and blocked drains cause more faults than people expect.

Aftercare tips

Think of this as the after-treatment advice, in brief:

  • Stop the unit if water is coming through a ceiling
  • If the breaker trips twice, leave it off
  • Keep the outdoor unit clear of leaves and clutter

Where a repair needs parts, we explain what’s been ordered and agree the return visit with you. Parts lead times depend on the supplier and we will keep you updated.

Book an annual service. The engineer cleans what you can’t reach and picks up problems before they cause a breakdown, which is far simpler than an emergency repair.

What happens on the day

Anything involving refrigerant is handled by F-Gas qualified engineers, as the law requires, while the electrical side is covered by our NICEIC approval. So on the day, you don’t need a separate electrician for the electrical side. The work takes anything from an hour or so to a full day, depending on the fault and the parts. Visits to Frating are agreed with you in advance and planned so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.

  1. Diagnose: test the system until the cause is clear.
  2. Next, a plain explanation and a fixed price.
  3. If the repair is not worth doing, we say so and explain the options.
  4. Treat: carry out the repair, sealing any leak before refrigerant goes back in.
  5. Sign off: prove it works and record the visit.

How to prepare

  • Unlock any gate, garage or side passage we need
  • Plan for pets to be kept clear during the visit
  • Mention any roof access, ladders or high-level work

Before you call an engineer

Refrigerant is off limits for anyone without the right qualifications. The law requires anyone working on equipment containing F gas to hold the right qualifications, and the company to be certified, and refrigerant lines can cause cold burns. If you suspect a leak, switch the system off and call us.

On air conditioning, the filters in the indoor unit are normally the one part owners can clean, if the manual says so. With the power off, they lift out, can be vacuumed or rinsed and must be fully dry before they go back. For a heat pump, the main owner jobs are a clear outdoor unit and sensible control settings.

A customer’s words
