When to call us in Buriton

Many people look at heat pumps when an oil, LPG or gas boiler is getting old. Planning the change before the boiler fails gives you time to survey, design and apply for any grant, rather than rushing a replacement in winter.

Most people get in touch after spotting something like this:

  • Finding a place for the outdoor unit
  • Choosing between air-to-water and air-to-air
  • Working out where a cylinder could go

Historic houses such as Uppark, about 3 miles south-east, are a reminder that listed homes need consent before a heat pump goes in.

What your quote should include

  • Which VAT rate the quote uses, and why
  • If the figure could change on the day
  • Proof of F-Gas company certification

Our hiring checklist

Air source heat pumps in Buriton, done properly

Every installation starts with a heat loss survey. That tells us how much heat the home needs, room by room so the system is sized to match. Guesswork leads to systems that are too big or too small. Typical jobs include checking eligibility for a heat pump grant and checking whether planning permission is needed, on air-to-water heat pumps, hot water cylinders and underfloor heating.

If your home in or near Buriton is heated by oil, LPG or electric heaters with no mains gas, an extra £1,500 is available through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme until March 2027.

We’re an F-Gas certified company, NICEIC approved for electrical work, with MCS certification for heat pumps and Checkatrade membership. Our engineers hold the F-gas qualifications needed to work on refrigerant.

When it’s something else

It’s worth knowing the limits before booking:

  • Planning decisions, which rest with the council
  • Gas boiler work, such as disconnecting the old boiler, which needs a Gas Safe registered engineer
  • Tax advice on your own circumstances

If you’re not sure, just give us a ring on 07833 053749 or send an email and we will give you a straight answer.

Where we work

  • Air-to-air heat pumps
  • Homes heated by oil, LPG or gas
  • Air-to-water heat pumps
  • Radiator systems
  • Underfloor heating
  • Hot water cylinders

How the visit works

Testing is the last part of the visit wherever the system can be switched on. Then we explain what was done and answer your questions, and anything that needs a follow-up is pointed out there and then. The visit takes several days for an air-to-water system with a new cylinder, less for an air-to-air system. We agree a date with you and plan the visit to Buriton so we arrive with what’s needed.

  1. First we find out about the property, the heating you have now and what you are hoping for.
  2. The survey measures heat loss room by room and looks at radiators, hot water and the best spot for the outdoor unit.
  3. The price comes back fixed and in writing, with the grant and VAT shown line by line.
  4. We fit the outdoor unit and connect it to the heating, hot water and controls.
  5. We commission the heat pump, complete the MCS paperwork and talk you through the controls.

How to prepare

What you can do yourself, and what needs us

Owner care supports servicing; it does not replace it. Simple care keeps the air moving through the system, but the refrigerant circuit, the electrics and the parts you can’t see still need an engineer at the interval the manufacturer recommends.

Refrigerant is off limits for anyone without the right qualifications. The law requires anyone working on equipment containing F gas to hold the right qualifications, and the company to be certified, and escaping refrigerant can cause cold burns. A suspected leak is our job, not yours.

Heat pumps in Buriton: local notes

About 52 miles out from central London, Buriton is part of the South East area we work across. Buriton’s centre is no more than about a third of a mile from the Buriton Conservation Area. Historic England lists about 29 buildings and structures within half a mile of the centre of Buriton, including The Manor House (grade II*). For a heat pump, permitted development doesn’t apply within the grounds of a listed building, and in a conservation area the outdoor unit cannot go on a wall or roof facing a road, so we check with the planning team at East Hampshire council, which normally handles Buriton where needed.

Period properties close to Church of St Mary can suit a heat pump, though insulation and any heritage protection are checked first.

Buriton is about 2 miles south of Petersfield, in Hampshire. Properties in Buriton get the same service as everywhere we cover: diagnosis first, a fixed price and proper paperwork when we have finished. Buriton is one of 683 places in Hampshire we cover. There’s also a page for Guildford, roughly 25 miles from Buriton.

Not far from Buriton, a recent job of ours was on East Street, Chichester (PO19), about 12 miles south-east: installing a Daikin wall-mounted unit in the dining area and a second unit serving the kitchen pass area.

That includes properties on High Street, Heatherfield and Petersfield Road and nearby roads. If your postcode is in GU31, we can take the job on. Nearby, we also cover air source heat pumps in Weston (1 mile north-west), Nursted (2 miles east), Ramsdean (2 miles north-west), Chalton (3 miles south) and Blendworth (4 miles south). Further out, we also cover Gosport (15 miles south-west), Havant (8 miles south), Fareham (14 miles south-west) and Horndean (5 miles south-west).

Buriton: your questions answered

Does the Boiler Upgrade Scheme cover homes in Buriton?

Yes, if the home and the heat pump meet the scheme’s rules: Buriton is in England, where it applies. For an air-to-water heat pump the amount is £7,500; an air-to-air system can get £2,500 if it replaces the fossil-fuel heating outright, meets the home’s full heating demand and is not an add-on to a boiler. You don’t apply yourself: the MCS certified installer does, which is us.

Will you come out to Buriton?

Yes. Buriton is within the area we cover across London and the South East. Send a few details and photos, and we reply the same working day.

Do you protect the property while you work?

Floors and furniture near the work are covered with dust sheets before we start, and the area is kept tidy throughout. At the end, we clear up and show you what we’ve done.

Do you provide F-Gas records?

Yes, always. New installations come with commissioning details, F-Gas records and warranty information, and repairs and services get a record of the work.

Do you survey before quoting?

Yes, always. We diagnose before we treat: the survey shows what’s needed, where things go and what access we need and the fixed price is built on it.

Do I need planning permission for a heat pump?

Under the Planning Portal rules, a heat pump on a house can often be permitted development. Listed buildings and their curtilages are excluded, and listed building consent is a separate matter. We check what applies to you.

Do you work on commercial properties?

Yes. From one rented home to commercial buildings, the approach is the same: a look first, a fixed-price quote and written records.

From one of our customers

“Office air con broke down in the July heatwave. Called at 8am, engineer was here by noon and fixed within 2 hours. Brilliant emergency response. They now hold the service contract for the whole building.”
