How we handle commercial air conditioning in The Valley
There’s no single best commercial system. Wall-mounted splits suit small offices and single rooms, cassettes suit open ceilings, ducted units hide away in ceiling voids, and VRF or VRV serves many rooms from shared outdoor units. We explain the options and why we’d choose one over another. The work covers multi-split systems, VRF systems and ducted systems, and common reasons people get in touch are fit-outs and refurbishments that need new air conditioning and systems that need out-of-hours or phased installation.
For a business near The Valley, outdoor units usually have room at the back of the building.
Equipment warranty comes from the manufacturer, on its own terms, and we explain those terms on your quote. Each brand sets its own conditions, so we go through them with you rather than leave you to find the small print.

Commercial air conditioning around The Valley
About 42 miles out from central London, The Valley is part of the South East area we work across.
If you look after a church or hall such as Church of St Lawrence, an air-to-air system that warms up quickly can suit a building used on and off, subject to the right consents. Above 12 kW of effective rated output, an accredited energy assessor has to inspect the system at least every five years.
The Valley is about 6 miles south-west of Faversham, in Kent. Homes and businesses alike in The Valley, we can help with commercial air conditioning. You’ll hear back from us the same working day, and there’s a 24/7 emergency line. The Valley is one of 922 places in Kent we cover for homes and businesses. We also work in Bromley, around 36 miles away.
Work in ME13 follows the same survey, fixed-price quote and written records as everywhere else we cover. We also cover the places around The Valley: Stalisfield Green (1 mile south), Stalisfield (1 mile south), Eastling (2 miles north), Throwley Forstal (2 miles east) and Throwley (2 miles north-east). The process
On the day, we arrive at the time agreed with you and check the plan with you first. Dust sheets go down over floors and anything close to the work, and the electrics are made safe before any panel comes off. The work itself takes as long as the site and the system need, from a short install to a phased project planned around opening hours. We agree a date with you and plan the visit to The Valley so we arrive with what’s needed.
- We survey the site and talk through how each area is used.
- We recommend a system and send a fixed-price quote.
- The programme is agreed, including any out-of-hours or phased work.
- The system is installed, wired and connected to its controls.
- Commissioning and handover follow, with the F-gas records and manufacturer paperwork.
Getting ready for the visit
- Clear the space around the indoor unit, or where it will go
- Let us know if the building has a permit or sign-in process
- Let us know if the units are on a roof, a high wall or in a locked area

Why it’s worth doing now in The Valley
F-gas leak checks and records are legal duties for most systems at or above 5 tCO2e. Missing checks leaves gaps in the records and a maintenance contract keeps them on track. Booking before summer means the work in The Valley is done before the hot weather.
What you pay reflects the actual work. That is why we look at the job first, from photos or on a survey, and the price is agreed before we start.

Common questions in The Valley
Will air conditioning in The Valley need planning permission?
That depends on the building and where the outdoor unit goes. Around 7 listed entries sit within 0.5 miles of central The Valley. Permitted development only covers heat pumps that are not used solely for cooling, and not within the grounds of a listed building. Conservation areas add limits on outdoor units facing a road. Where needed, we check with Swale council, which is normally the planning authority for The Valley.
Do you cover The Valley for commercial air conditioning?
Yes. We work across London and the South East from our base in East Grinstead, and The Valley is part of that. Just give us a ring on 07833 053749 or send an email with a few details.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. Homeowners, landlords, agents and businesses all book us in The Valley and across Kent. Tell us who should receive the paperwork.
Do I need to service the system to keep the warranty?
It can, for some brands. Read the manufacturer’s terms, or send us the make and model and we’ll explain them, and book the service at the interval they recommend.
How often is a TM44 inspection needed?
Over 12 kW, a TM44 inspection is needed at least every 5 years. GOV.UK has guidance on how it works and we will help with the system side.
Who is responsible for leak checks?
The F-gas rules share it between the equipment’s operator and the engineers who work on it. The interval depends on the refrigerant charge, measured in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e, and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e.
What’s the price of air conditioning for a business?
We price commercial work after visiting the site. It means the system and the programme fit your building and you get a fixed price.
What you can do yourself, and what needs us
On air conditioning, the filters in the indoor unit are normally the one part owners can clean, if the manual says so. With the power off, they lift out, can be vacuumed or rinsed and must be fully dry before they go back. On a heat pump, the equivalent is keeping the outdoor unit clear and checking the controls.
Owners can handle the everyday basics: keeping the outdoor unit clear, checking the mode and set temperature, and the routine cleaning in the manual. Opening up the units, the electrics and the refrigerant circuit are a job for us.
Honest limits
An honest diagnosis matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what this work can’t put right:
- Structural alterations to the building
- Getting landlord or building owner approval
- Boiler installation or repair
If in doubt, give us a ring on 07833 053749 and we’ll say what we think.
