Commercial air conditioning for Paddock

Commercial air conditioning in Paddock, done properly

Installation is only the start. Maintenance contracts cover servicing, F-gas leak checks and the records that go with them with the cost agreed up front. Our 24/7 emergency line is there if something goes wrong. If you are dealing with fit-outs and refurbishments that need new air conditioning and R410A systems getting dearer to top up, we can sort it out.

Around Paddock, there’s typically space for outdoor plant away from the road, out of sight and away from neighbours.

Refrigerant work is written up in the F-Gas records: what was done, the refrigerant type and any amount added or recovered. File them with the system’s paperwork, ready for the next service or a warranty query.

What owners can safely do

Never try to top up, release or handle refrigerant yourself. Under the F-gas rules, engineers need their own qualifications and the company must be certified, and escaping refrigerant can cause cold burns. If you suspect a leak, switch the system off and call us.

Do not move, re-route or disconnect units or pipework yourself. Disconnecting a system means dealing with refrigerant, which only a qualified engineer can do, and the electrics need care too. Ask us to quote for a move instead.

Leave it or put it right?

For most systems from 5 tCO2e upwards, leak checks and records are required by law. Falling behind leaves the operator without the evidence the rules expect, and it’s simpler to keep on schedule with a contract. A system that is left with a fault, or without a service, usually costs more to run.

Several rooms, units or sites on one quote can make for a more efficient booking. Mention every unit or room you need covered, and you’ll get one fixed price.

Paddock: your questions answered

Will you come out to Paddock?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We are based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.

Will air conditioning in Paddock need planning permission?

That depends on the building and where the outdoor unit goes. The centre of Paddock is in a conservation area. An air-to-air system used for heating as well as cooling can be permitted development on a house if it meets the conditions, but a cooling-only unit is not covered, listed buildings need consent and conservation areas restrict outdoor units facing a road. Where needed, we check with Ashford council, which is normally the planning authority for Paddock.

Can I do any of the installation myself?

Anything that involves the refrigerant needs an F-Gas qualified engineer from a certified company. That’s a legal requirement, and manufacturers expect it for their warranty too. We’re happy to quote for the full job, supply to commissioning.

Which brands do you work with?

Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi and others. For new systems, we recommend a brand and model to suit the job and tell you why.

Will I get records for the system?

Yes. Each visit is written up, including F-Gas records for any refrigerant work. Keep them with the manual and the warranty documents.

What warranty do I get?

The manufacturer’s warranty, on the manufacturer’s terms. Terms differ by brand, and we set them out on your quote.

How long does a commercial installation take?

A typical installation takes from a couple of days for a few cassettes to a planned programme for a whole building. Phased or out-of-hours work may extend it but keeps the business running.

What commercial air conditioning can’t fix

We will always give you a straight diagnosis, so here’s what commercial air conditioning won’t do:

  • Boiler installation or repair
  • Carrying out the TM44 inspection itself, which needs an accredited energy assessor
  • Building work beyond the installation itself

If in doubt, phone 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier and we’ll say what we think before you book.

What we work on in Paddock

  • VRF systems
  • Multi-split systems
  • Ducted systems
  • Ceiling cassettes
  • Server and comms room cooling
  • Wall-mounted split systems

What happens on the day

On the day, we arrive at the time agreed with you and check the plan with you first. Floors and furniture near the work are covered with dust sheets, and the electrics are made safe before any panel comes off. The work itself takes a matter of days for a modest fit-out, with larger buildings phased floor by floor or zone by zone. Photos of the room and the outside of the property help us plan a visit to Paddock.

  1. An engineer walks the building with you to understand its layout, its users and its heat sources.
  2. We send a fixed-price quote showing the system, the unit positions and how the work will be phased.
  3. The work is planned around your opening hours, with out-of-hours or phased work where it helps.
  4. On site, the team mounts the plant, runs and proves the pipework, and wires the controls.
  5. Commissioning, F-gas records and a handover of the controls finish the job.

Before we arrive

  • Unlock any gate, garage or side passage we need
  • Clear the space around the indoor unit, or where it will go
  • Let us know where the consumer unit is

Food Standards Agency records list about 5 restaurants, cafés and canteens within about 1.5 miles of central Paddock. Many of those sites need air conditioning that is sized for long hours and maintained on a schedule.

For a church or hall like Church of St Cosmas and St Damian, any outdoor unit needs the right consents first. A bursar or site manager at a school like Challock Primary School will want the install planned around the school calendar, and we work to that.
