Commercial air conditioning for homes and businesses in Graveney
Server rooms and comms rooms need cooling that keeps going. The design accounts for the equipment’s heat and can include a second unit as backup, so a single fault doesn’t leave the room without cooling. Common call-outs are for systems that need out-of-hours or phased installation and comms rooms without enough cooling, across multi-split systems, VRF systems and ceiling cassettes.
In a village like Graveney, commercial air conditioning is typically for a pub, a shop, a surgery, a village hall or a rural business. Older buildings may be listed or in a conservation area, so we check the planning side first.
Nothing is signed off by word of mouth: commissioning details for an installation, a fault and repair note for a repair, or a record of the service. Keep it with the system’s paperwork so it’s to hand next time.

Commercial air conditioning in Graveney: local notes
The coast is only about 2 miles from Graveney. Rooftop and wall-mounted plant near the sea needs protecting from salt air, through position, coil coatings where available and regular maintenance. The Graveney Bridge Conservation Area lies close to the centre of Graveney, within about a third of a mile. In the mile around Graveney’s centre, 3 conservation areas have been designated. About 11 listed entries lie within half a mile of central Graveney, Church of All Saints (grade I) among them. None of this rules air conditioning out. It just means the planning position is checked before anyone suggests a spot for the outdoor unit.
Before any plant goes outside a building like Church of All Saints, its trustees may need planning or heritage advice, and we work with whoever gives it. If you look after a school such as Graveney Primary School, classroom, office and IT room cooling is usually installed in the holidays.

Looking after your system
Looking after the system is mostly common sense. Our tips:
- Note the 5-yearly TM44 date for systems over 12 kW
- Keep plant areas tidy
- Don’t let servicing slip
Handover includes a walk-through of the controls, so the system is run the way it was designed. Getting the settings right helps the system perform.
A maintenance contract keeps servicing and F-gas checks on schedule. We agree the visits and the price with your quote.
Graveney: your questions answered
Is Graveney within the area you cover?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. A few photos and the postcode are enough to get things started.
Does being near the sea make a difference to commercial air conditioning in Graveney?
It can. Graveney is within about 2 miles of the coast, and salt air speeds up corrosion on outdoor units. We site outdoor units out of the worst of the sea wind where possible and can suggest models with corrosion protection where the manufacturer offers it.
Which commercial systems do you fit?
Wall-mounted, cassette, ducted, multi-split and VRF or VRV systems. We recommend the type that suits your space.
Who has to arrange F-Gas leak checks?
Responsibility is shared between the operator, usually whoever owns or controls the equipment, and the service technicians. How often depends on the size of the refrigerant charge in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e, and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e.
What F-gas duties does a business have?
Responsibility is shared between the operator and the certified technicians who work on the system. The operator needs to arrange leak checks and keep records where the system requires them and we handle that for you.
Can you install out of hours?
We can. Work can be scheduled around your hours and phase it where needed.
Do you protect the property while you work?
We put dust sheets over floors and furniture near the work first, and the area is kept tidy throughout. Before we leave, we clear up and run through the work with you.

What happens on the day
Everything the job needs comes with us, from tools and test equipment to ladders and dust sheets. You only need to give us clear access to the units, or their planned positions, and to the fuse board. On site, the work takes anything from a day or two for a small office to several weeks of phased work on a large building. Pictures of the space and where the outdoor unit could go let us plan the work in Graveney.
- First comes a site survey of the building, its occupancy and the heat it has to deal with.
- A fixed-price quote follows, covering the system type, the layout and the timing.
- Installation is scheduled to fit the business, with out-of-hours and phased work where necessary.
- The system goes in, from units and pipework to drainage, wiring and controls.
- Finally it’s commissioned and handed over, with the refrigerant records and manuals for your files.
How to prepare
- Name a contact who can meet us at the agreed time
- Let us know if the building has a permit or sign-in process
- Make sure we can reach the consumer unit or fuse board
Getting a price
The quickest way to a quote is to send pictures: the inside and outside of the property where the work is, plus the rating plate of any unit already there. Tell us the address and what you need, and simple jobs can often be priced without a visit.
Advice
What you can do yourself, and what needs us
Good habits make our visits easier, not unnecessary. Clean filters and a clear outdoor unit help the system run as it should, but the inside of the units, the refrigerant and the electrics still need a qualified engineer.
Never try to top up, release or handle refrigerant yourself. The law requires anyone working on equipment containing F gas to hold the right qualifications, and the company to be certified, and refrigerant lines can cause cold burns. A suspected leak is our job, not yours.

What a customer said
“Very professional from the initial survey through to installation. The engineer explained everything clearly and the quote was exactly what we paid. Would not hesitate to recommend AirCon Doctor.”
