Commercial air conditioning in Fifield, done properly

Businesses can’t always stop for an installation. Work can be done in the evening, at weekends or in phases, so the building keeps running. The programme is agreed before work begins. We’re often asked to deal with missing F-gas records for commercial systems and installs that must fit around trading hours, across ceiling cassettes, ducted systems and VRF systems.

Around Fifield, there’s normally space for outdoor plant away from the road, out of sight and away from neighbours.

Equipment warranty comes from the manufacturer, on its own terms, and we explain those terms on your quote. Terms differ from brand to brand, and we are happy to talk you through them.

The process

You do not need to do much on the day. Just let us in and point us to the units, or to where they’ll be fitted, and we take it from there. Before we leave, the area is tidied and we explain what we’ve done. Visits to Fifield are agreed with you in advance and planned so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.

  1. First comes a site survey of the building, its occupancy and the heat it has to deal with.
  2. We send a fixed-price quote showing the system, the unit positions and how the work will be phased.
  3. We agree a programme that suits the site, including evening, weekend or phased installation.
  4. Indoor and outdoor units, pipework, condensate and controls are installed and the electrics connected.
  5. We commission the system, record the refrigerant details and hand over the controls and documents.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any managing agent or landlord rules we need to follow
  • Make sure we can reach the consumer unit or fuse board
  • Arrange for someone to be there to let us in

Get a fixed-price quote

The quickest way to a quote is to send pictures: the room or the existing unit, the outside wall or roof where the outdoor unit sits or would go, and the label on any existing unit. Tell us the address and what you need, and many jobs can be priced from that.

What air conditioning will not do

It’s worth knowing the limits before booking:

  • Major builder’s work such as new openings in structural walls
  • Planning permission or landlord consent on your behalf
  • Issuing TM44 reports

Not sure which it is? You can ring 07833 053749 or email us and we’ll tell you honestly.

Where we work

  • VRF systems
  • Server and comms room cooling
  • Wall-mounted split systems
  • Multi-split systems
  • Ceiling cassettes
  • Ducted systems

Landlords, agents and facilities managers

Managing agents often deal with us directly. Tell us the property, the work and the access arrangements and we will come back with a fixed-price quote.

When the building owner and the occupier are different, it’s worth checking the agreement for who looks after the system. We’re happy to deal with either side, and the paperwork can go to both.

Your questions about commercial air conditioning in Fifield

Is planning permission needed for air conditioning in Fifield?

There’s no single answer: the building and the outdoor unit position decide it. Around 11 listed entries sit within 0.5 miles of central Fifield. A system that heats as well as cools may not need an application on a house, provided it stays within the permitted development limits. Cooling-only units get no such allowance, and listed buildings and road-facing positions in conservation areas need more care. We speak to the local planning authority (for Fifield, normally West Oxfordshire council) when it matters.

Do you cover smaller places like Fifield?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Visits to smaller places are planned so the engineer arrives with what the job needs.

Can you set up regular servicing?

Yes. Send details of the systems and how they’re used and we will propose a schedule and quote for it. Leak checks required by the F-gas rules can be built in for larger systems.

Will you work on another installer’s system?

Yes. We start with a proper look and tell you honestly what we find, including any issues with how it was fitted. Any work is priced before it goes ahead.

What are the F-gas responsibilities for commercial air conditioning?

Responsibility is shared between the operator and the certified technicians who work on the system. The operator must make sure leak checks are done where required and records are kept and we handle that for you.

Who is responsible for leak checks?

The operator of the equipment, working with qualified engineers. Larger systems need regular checks: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We will work out which band applies to yours.

Which accreditations do you hold?

F-Gas company certification, NICEIC approval for electrical work and MCS certification for heat pumps, plus Checkatrade membership. Our engineers also hold the individual F-gas qualifications needed to work on refrigerant.

What we’re called out for in Fifield

The GB phase-down is reducing HFC supply, so refrigerants like R410A are getting scarcer and dearer for top-ups. Servicing and repairing R410A systems is still allowed, but it’s a factor when planning a replacement.

Customers usually contact us after spotting something like this:

  • Comms rooms without enough cooling
  • Changes of use that need a new layout
  • F-gas leak checks and records that are overdue

For a church or hall like Church of St John the Baptist, any outdoor unit needs the right consents first.

Comparing quotes

  • Whether testing, commissioning and paperwork are included
  • Whether extra work needs your approval first
  • Whether anyone has checked the property or the system first
