Need commercial air conditioning in Enfield Island Village?

How it works

Wherever the system can be run before we leave, we run it and check it in operation. Then we show you what we have done and answer any questions, and anything that needs attention later is pointed out. The visit takes a matter of days for a modest fit-out, with larger buildings phased floor by floor or zone by zone. If a freeholder or agent needs to agree the work in Enfield Island Village, we can send them the details.

  1. An engineer walks the building with you to understand its layout, its users and its heat sources.
  2. A fixed-price quote follows, covering the system type, the layout and the timing.
  3. Installation is scheduled to fit the business, with out-of-hours and phased work where necessary.
  4. We fit the units, run and test the pipework, connect the condensate and wire in the controls.
  5. Commissioning, F-gas records and a handover of the controls finish the job.

How to prepare

  • Tell us about parking and loading
  • Make sure we can reach the outdoor unit, or where it will go
  • Keep pets out of the rooms we’re working in

How to get a quote

Photos are enough for some jobs; others need a visit first. Bigger systems, commercial sites and awkward pipe routes are normally surveyed on site. Either way, the quote is fixed before anything goes ahead.

Advice

Commercial air conditioning for homes and businesses in Enfield Island Village

Commercial systems are commercial systems priced after survey. We look at the building, the people in it, the equipment and the hours it’s used, and a fixed-price quote follows. So you know exactly what you’re getting and what it costs. We’re often asked to deal with installs that must fit around trading hours and missing F-gas records for commercial systems, on ceiling cassettes, VRF systems and ducted systems.

Space for outdoor units is tight in much of London, Enfield Island Village included, so roofs, light wells and basements are common positions. VRF systems can serve many indoor units from a small number of outdoor units, which helps in dense areas.

AirCon Doctor is an F-Gas certified company and NICEIC approved for electrical work, with MCS certification for heat pumps and Checkatrade membership. Our engineers hold the F-gas qualifications needed to work on refrigerant.

Do you need commercial air conditioning in Enfield Island Village?

Some businesses come to us because an inspection or audit has raised issues. We carry out the work and make sure the paperwork is in order, so you can show what’s been done.

These are the situations we see most often:

  • Leak check schedules that have slipped
  • Offices that get too hot in summer
  • Changes of use that need a new layout

If you look after a school such as Prince of Wales Primary School, classroom, office and IT room cooling is normally installed in the holidays.

Questions from Enfield Island Village

Can I fit air conditioning in Enfield Island Village without planning permission?

That depends on the building and where the outdoor unit goes. A conservation area takes in the middle of Enfield Island Village. A system that heats as well as cools may not need an application on a house, provided it stays within the permitted development limits. Cooling-only units get no such allowance, and listed buildings and road-facing positions in conservation areas need more care. We speak to the planning department at Enfield council, normally the authority for Enfield Island Village when it matters.

Can you do commercial air conditioning in Enfield Island Village?

We do: Enfield Island Village falls inside our working area. Get in touch with the details and we reply the same working day.

Do you offer commercial maintenance contracts?

We do. With a contract, servicing and F-gas checks happen on time and each visit is recorded.

Will skipping a service affect the warranty?

For some brands, yes. Send us the make and model and we will tell you what the manufacturer expects, and book the service at the interval they recommend.

How do you keep the place clean during the work?

Floors and furniture near the work are covered with dust sheets before we start, and we tidy up as we go. At the end, we clear up and show you what we’ve done.

What F-gas duties does a business have?

The operator and the service technicians share responsibility. The operator needs to arrange leak checks and keep records where the system requires them, and we provide both.

Whose job is it to check the system for leaks?

Responsibility is shared between the operator, normally whoever owns or controls the equipment, and the service technicians. How often depends on the size of the refrigerant charge in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least yearly for 5 to under 50 tCO2e, and every 6 months for 50 to under 500 tCO2e.

Before you call an engineer

Leave the units and pipework where they are. Moving a unit involves the refrigerant circuit, so it needs an F-Gas qualified engineer, and the electrical side needs a competent person. Ask us to quote for a move instead.

For air conditioning, cleaning the indoor unit’s filters is the main job owners can do, if the manual says so. With the power off, they lift out, can be vacuumed or rinsed and must be fully dry before they go back. For a heat pump, the main owner jobs are a clear outdoor unit and sensible control settings.

What a customer said

“Excellent service from start to finish. Two wall-mounted units installed in our home. Clean, tidy work: they protected all the floors and left no mess. The systems work brilliantly. Would highly recommend.”
