Air conditioning in Streatham Park
Wall-mounted, multi-split, ducted and cassette systems are all part of what we install, with VRF for larger buildings. Which one suits you depends on the space, the building and how much of the unit you want to see and we talk you through it on the survey. Air conditioning installation in Streatham Park starts with a site survey, followed by a fixed-price quote with the brand, model and every part of the job set out.
Most installations here are a wall-mounted indoor unit, a short pipe run through the wall and an outdoor unit on the back or side of the property, with the condensate drained away safely.
Top-floor flats and rooms with big south- or west-facing windows tend to be the first to overheat in London. Many people start with one wall-mounted unit in the room that suffers most, while a multi-split serves several rooms from one outdoor unit, which helps where outside space is limited.
Any work on the refrigerant circuit is recorded: what was done, the refrigerant type and any amount added or recovered. Keep the records with the manual and the warranty documents, ready for the next service or a warranty query.

How the visit works
We book the visit for a day and time that suit you, and we keep you posted if anything changes. When we arrive, we check the job against the survey or the photos you sent. Anything unexpected is raised with you before we go further. After that, it takes a day or more, depending on the number of rooms, the pipe routes and the access. Photos of the room and where the outdoor unit could go let us plan most of a visit to Streatham Park in advance.
- You send pictures, or we visit and survey the rooms and outside.
- The system is sized, positions are agreed and the price is fixed.
- On the day, dust sheets go down and the indoor and outdoor units are fitted.
- We run and connect the pipes, cable and drain, then pressure test and evacuate the circuit.
- The system is commissioned, the controls explained and the F-Gas records handed over.
How to prepare
- Dig out any previous service or F-Gas records
- Make sure we can reach the consumer unit or fuse board
- Plan for pets to be kept clear during the visit

Photos are enough for some jobs; others need a visit first. Bigger systems, commercial sites and awkward pipe routes are normally surveyed on site. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work is booked.

Owner checks or an engineer?
Do not move, re-route or disconnect units or pipework yourself. Disconnecting a system means dealing with refrigerant, which only a qualified engineer can do, and the electrics need care too. Ask us to quote for a move instead.
Good habits make our visits easier, not unnecessary. Simple care keeps the air moving through the system, but the refrigerant circuit, the electrics and the parts you can’t see still need an engineer at the interval the manufacturer recommends.

Do you need air conditioning in Streatham Park?
Not everyone is after cooling. Direct electric heaters convert electricity into heat one for one, while an air-to-air heat pump moves heat from outside, which means more heat out than electricity in. Most modern split systems work this way.
Look out for any of the following:
- A home office that warms up with screens and equipment
- A room that’s unbearable on warm days
- An ageing air conditioning system near the end of its life
Homes near Parish Church of St Alban are a good example of where we look up the heritage status of the building before fixing anything to it.

For landlords and property managers
The F-gas rules share responsibility for leak checking between the equipment’s operator and the service technicians. Where a building is let or managed, the lease or contract should make clear who looks after the system, and we can work for either side.
Facilities teams in offices, schools and public buildings book us too across Greater London. Larger buildings can be done in stages to keep disruption down.
Homes in Streatham Park and air conditioning
About 63% of homes in the Streatham Park area were built before 1919, according to the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures, and the 2021 Census found about 66% of households live in flats. Older homes often have solid walls, which take longer to core drill, so we plan pipe routes carefully and keep them as discreet as we can. For a flat, we look at balconies, flat roofs and rear walls for the outdoor unit, and the lease often needs checking first. In London, outdoor unit positions, building rules and access tend to need more planning than the install itself.
If you work from home near Streatham station, a home office that overheats is one of the easiest rooms to cool.

Questions from Streatham Park
Do I need permission to put air conditioning in my flat in Streatham Park?
In many cases, yes, once the lease and the building’s rules are checked. Permitted development rules for flats are tighter than for houses, so we check the outdoor unit position and give you the details to send to the freeholder or managing agent.
Will air conditioning in Streatham Park need planning permission?
It comes down to the building and the spot chosen for the outdoor unit. The centre of Streatham Park is in the Streatham Park Conservation Area. Since 2025, an air-to-air heat pump on a house can count as permitted development if it meets the conditions and isn’t used only for cooling. Listed buildings still need consent, and in a conservation area a road-facing wall or roof is not allowed under those rules. If there’s any doubt, we ask the local planning authority (for Streatham Park, normally Lambeth council).
Do you offer emergency call-outs?
Yes, day and night. Call the emergency line and tell us the make, the symptoms and any error code, and we will advise on what to do next.
How much is air conditioning for one room?
From £1,200 + VAT for a single-room split, with a typical range of £1,200–£2,200 + VAT. That covers supply, installation, commissioning and the F-Gas paperwork, and we fix it after a survey or from your pictures.
Do you work on all makes?
The main ones, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. For new systems, we recommend a brand and model to suit the job and tell you why.
Do you work in Streatham Park?
Yes. Our area takes in London and the counties of the South East, and that includes Streatham Park.
Does servicing affect my warranty?
Each manufacturer decides. Where servicing is a condition, a missed service could give the manufacturer grounds to refuse a claim, so we explain the terms on your quote.
A customer’s words
“Office air con broke down in the July heatwave. Called at 8am, engineer was here by noon and fixed within 2 hours. Brilliant emergency response. They now hold the service contract for the whole building.”
