Air Conditioning in Rock
Air conditioning across Rock and nearby, from the first look to the final check and a fixed price agreed before work begins.
- A home office that warms up with screens and equipment
- An ageing air conditioning system near the end of its life
- A loft conversion that is too warm to use
What happens if it’s left?
Size matters more than brand. An undersized unit runs hard and still can’t keep the room cool; too big, and it switches on and off and wastes energy. Sizing each room properly on the survey avoids both. Booking before summer means the work in Rock is done before the hot weather.
Our prices page shows typical ranges, but each job is priced on what it involves. For a fixed-price quote, ring 07833 053749 or drop us a line, and we’ll explain what it covers.

Air conditioning in Rock, done properly
Most modern split systems run as heat pumps, so they can heat as well as cool. The Energy Saving Trust makes the same point: an air-to-air heat pump is what many people simply call air conditioning, and a well-chosen system can earn its keep all year round. Air conditioning installation in Rock starts with a site survey, followed by a fixed-price quote with the brand, model and every part of the job set out.
Space outside is rarely the problem in a place like Rock. More often it’s the walls, the electrics and the length of the pipe run that need thinking about.
Think of the paperwork as the system’s health record: a dated account of the work and the readings we took. If anything goes wrong later, it helps the next engineer and the manufacturer, so keep it safe.

When to call us in Rock
Commercial spaces gain heat from people, equipment, lighting and glazing. Comfortable staff and customers are the usual reason businesses get in touch, along with keeping equipment rooms at a steady temperature.
These are the situations we see most often:
- An office, shop or restaurant that’s uncomfortable for staff and customers
- An old system that needs replacing
- A home office that warms up with screens and equipment
With historic houses such as Parham House about 3.9 miles west, it’s a reminder that older homes nearby may be listed, which changes the planning rules.
What your quote should include
- What’s in the price and what is not
- Proof of F-Gas company certification
- Why the equipment they’re quoting suits the job

How the job changes from property to property
Ducted systems
With a ducted system, the indoor unit sits out of sight above the ceiling, with only neat grilles showing in the room. It suits rooms where a visible unit wouldn’t work.
Outdoor unit positions
The outdoor unit can go on a wall bracket, on the ground or on a flat roof, whatever suits the building and the route. It needs airflow around it and room for servicing.
Rock questions
Is Rock in your area for air conditioning?
We do: Rock falls inside our working area. To start, call 07833 053749 or use the quote form with a few photos.
Will air conditioning in Rock need planning permission?
There’s no single answer: the building and the outdoor unit position decide it. Historic England lists about 7 buildings and structures within half a mile of the centre of Rock. An air-to-air system used for heating as well as cooling can be permitted development on a house if it meets the conditions, but a cooling-only unit is not covered, listed buildings need consent and conservation areas restrict outdoor units facing a road. Where necessary, we check with the planning department at Horsham council, usually the authority for Rock.
Do you survey before quoting?
Yes. Photos often do the job for simple work, while bigger systems and repairs that need testing get a visit.
Do you offer maintenance contracts?
Yes. Send details of the systems and how they’re used and we will propose a schedule and quote for it. That can include the leak checks the F-gas rules require for larger systems.
Why use an F-Gas certified company?
Companies working on equipment that contains F gas must be certified by an approved body, and each engineer needs the right qualifications too. It means the refrigerant in your system is handled legally.
When will I hear back?
On the same working day you contact us. Then we agree a date that works for you, and you get a fixed price before any work goes ahead.
Who has to arrange F-Gas leak checks?
Responsibility is shared between the operator, normally whoever owns or controls the equipment, and the service technicians. The interval depends on the refrigerant charge, measured in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e, and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e.
How it works
Each visit runs to the same pattern: agree the plan on site, put the dust sheets down, carry out the job, check the system and explain it all to you. On site, the work takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system. Photos of the room and the outside of the property help us plan a visit to Rock.
- We start by looking at the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go.
- Cooling loads are worked out room by room, and the written price names the make, the model and every position.
- On the day, we fit the indoor and outdoor units and run the pipework, cable and condensate drain.
- We connect the supply, pressure test the pipework and evacuate it before the refrigerant is released.
- We commission the system, show you the controls and leave the F-Gas records and the manufacturer’s warranty details.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know if the units are on a roof, a high wall or in a locked area
- Tell us about parking and loading
- Keep pets and children away from the work area
Getting a price
Getting a quote is straightforward. Call or email with a few details and we will come back to you the same working day. Where a survey is needed, we arrange a time that suits you.

A customer’s words
“Office air con broke down in the July heatwave. Called at 8am, engineer was here by noon and fixed within 2 hours. Brilliant emergency response. They now hold the service contract for the whole building.”
