Air Conditioning in Littlemore
Looking for air conditioning in Littlemore? We diagnose first, fix the price and book the work around you, then sign it off with written records.

- Too many options and no clear advice
How we handle air conditioning in Littlemore
Any installation we do in Littlemore follows the same process as everywhere else we work: a site survey, or photos for simple jobs, then a fixed-price quote, the installation, commissioning and F-Gas records. You know the price before any work starts and the paperwork is in your hands when we finish. Most enquiries from Littlemore start with one hot room: a bedroom, a home office or a loft conversion. That is typically a single wall-mounted split, from £1,200 + VAT.
A cottage and a newer house near Littlemore are very different jobs. Thick walls, low ceilings and beams need care with pipe routes, and a listed home needs consent before anything is fixed to it.
Equipment warranty comes from the manufacturer, on its own terms, and we explain those terms on your quote. Each brand sets its own conditions, so we go through them with you rather than leave you to find the small print.

What an install looks like in Littlemore
About 51 miles out from central London, Littlemore is part of the South East area we work across. Central Littlemore is inside the Littlemore Conservation Area. In the mile around Littlemore’s centre, 3 conservation areas have been designated. On the National Heritage List, around 14 entries fall within 0.5 miles of the middle of Littlemore; Church of St Mary and St Nicholas (grade II*) is one. Before any outdoor unit is fixed here, we find out whether the building is protected. Where it is, the planning team at Oxford City council, which usually handles Littlemore has the final say on what’s allowed.
Homes near Church of St Mary and St Nicholas are a good example of where we look up the heritage status of the building before fixing anything to it.

Signs you need air conditioning in Littlemore
Many people try a portable unit first. A portable unit has to vent its warm air through a hose out of a window, which lets some heat back in, and its compressor sits in the room with you. A fixed split system puts the compressor outside.
These are the situations we see most often:
- Bedrooms and offices that overheat in summer
- Not knowing which system, size or brand to choose
- Old electric heaters you’d like to replace with something more efficient
About 2.7 miles north stands Holywell Manor. Listed homes in any area need consent first, so tell us if yours is one.
What your quote should include
- Whether anyone has checked the property or the system first
- Which VAT rate the quote uses, and why
- Whether the company is F-Gas certified, and whether you can check it
The process
The visit goes in the diary at a time that works for you, and we keep you posted if anything changes. On arrival, the engineer compares the job with the survey, your pictures or the details you gave us. Anything unexpected is raised with you before we go further. From there, the work takes a day for most single-room installations, with multi-split, ducted and cassette systems taking longer. We plan the visit to Littlemore from the survey or your photos.
- You send pictures, or we visit and survey the rooms and outside.
- Output, positions and price are settled before anything is booked.
- We protect the area, then fit both halves of the system.
- Pipework, cable and drain are run, the circuit is connected and the pipework is pressure tested and evacuated.
- It’s switched on, checked and handed over with its records.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know if the units are on a roof, a high wall or in a locked area
- Let us know where we can park and unload
- Find the manual or the paperwork for the system, if you have it

Advice
Littlemore questions
Will you come out to Littlemore?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Visits to smaller places are planned so the engineer arrives with what the job needs.
Can you do air conditioning in Littlemore?
Yes. Littlemore is one of the places we cover. Get in touch with the details and we reply the same working day.
Which brands do you work with?
Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi and others. For new systems, we recommend a brand and model to suit the job and explain why.
Do you look at the job first?
Yes. We always look before we price, on a survey, or from your pictures and details where the job is simple. Then you get a fixed-price quote.
Who has to arrange F-Gas leak checks?
The F-gas rules share it between the equipment’s operator and the engineers who work on it. How often depends on the size of the refrigerant charge in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least yearly for 5 to under 50 tCO2e, and every 6 months for 50 to under 500 tCO2e.
Can I do any of the installation myself?
No, not the refrigerant side. The F-gas rules require certified companies and qualified engineers for it, and a new electrical circuit is notifiable building work unless a registered competent person does it.
Can I have air conditioning in a flat?
Often, yes, but there are extra steps. Leaseholders normally need consent from the landlord or management company for an outdoor unit and holes through outside walls, so check the lease. Planning rules for flats are tighter too, so we point out anything that may need permission on the survey. This is general information, not legal advice.
Why deal with it now?
Refrigerant rules have changed what new systems use. From 2025, single splits under 3 kg cannot use refrigerants with a GWP over 750, which is why R32, with a GWP of 675, is now common. Older R410A systems have a GWP of 2088. Small faults tend to grow, so it’s worth dealing with them early.
Typical ranges are on our prices page, but each job is priced on what it involves. For a fixed-price quote, ring us on 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form, and we’ll talk you through it.

What owners can safely do
For air conditioning, cleaning the indoor unit’s filters is the main job owners can do, if the manual says so. With the power off, they lift out, can be vacuumed or rinsed and must be fully dry before they go back. On a heat pump, the equivalent is keeping the outdoor unit clear and checking the controls.
Keep a note of anything odd: an error code, a new noise, a drip, a smell or a change in how well the system heats or cools. It helps us diagnose quickly, and a photo or a short video of the display is even better.
A customer’s words
“Excellent service from start to finish. Two wall-mounted units installed in our home. Clean, tidy work: they protected all the floors and left no mess. The systems work brilliantly. Would highly recommend.”
