Air conditioning for Isfield

Air conditioning for homes and businesses in Isfield

Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi are among the brands we fit. The survey ends with a recommendation and the reasons for it, along with the manufacturer’s warranty terms on your quote. Modern air conditioning heats as well as cools: the Energy Saving Trust notes that air-to-air heat pumps are sometimes called air conditioning, which is why many owners use theirs all year.

In a village like Isfield, many homes are older, and some are listed. That matters, because a listed home needs consent and permitted development rules do not apply to it, and the outdoor unit position is chosen to suit the building.

Nothing is signed off by word of mouth: commissioning details and F-Gas records for a new system, a note of the fault and the fix for a repair, or a service record. File it with the manual, because it helps with any later warranty question.

What an install looks like in Isfield

Census 2021 figures found about 65% of households in detached or semi-detached houses. Houses typically have a side or rear wall with room for the outdoor unit, and a multi-split can serve several rooms from one outdoor unit.

Older streets near The Parish Church of St Margaret may fall within a conservation area, so we check the planning position before choosing where the outdoor unit goes. Glyndebourne, about 4.1 miles south, is one of the historic houses nearby, and if your own home is listed, consent comes before any air conditioning is fixed to it.

Questions from Isfield

Will air conditioning in Isfield need planning permission?

It depends on the property. Around 11 listed entries sit within 0.5 miles of central Isfield. A system that heats as well as cools may not need an application on a house, provided it stays within the permitted development limits. Cooling-only units get no such allowance, and listed buildings and road-facing positions in conservation areas need more care. We speak to the local planning authority (for Isfield, typically Wealden council) when it matters.

Will you come out to Isfield?

We do. Villages and hamlets get the same service as the bigger towns. Visits to smaller places are planned so the engineer arrives with what the job needs.

Is there a survey before the work?

Yes, always. We diagnose before we treat: the survey tells us what the job needs and how to do it, and the quote is based on that.

Will you make a mess?

We put dust sheets over floors and furniture near the work first, and the area is kept tidy throughout. At the end, we clear up and show you what we’ve done.

Do you provide F-Gas records?

Yes, on every job. New installations come with commissioning details, F-Gas records and warranty information, while repairs and services get a written note of what was found and done.

Is the equipment covered by a warranty?

Warranty comes from the manufacturer and depends on the brand and product. Daikin, for example, gives a standard 2 years on split air conditioning, and we explain the terms for whichever brand you choose.

Do you work on commercial properties?

Yes. Homeowners, landlords, agents and businesses all book us in Isfield and across East Sussex. Let us know who the records should go to.

How it works

Testing is the last part of the visit wherever the system can be switched on. Then we explain what was done and answer your questions, and anything that needs a follow-up is pointed out there and then. The visit takes a day for most single-room installations, with multi-split, ducted and cassette systems taking longer. Rural lanes and tight entrances are worth mentioning before a visit to Isfield.

  1. We survey the rooms and the outside of the property, or work from photos and details for simple jobs.
  2. We size the system for each room, then send a fixed-price quote with the units and where they go.
  3. Brackets go on, the units are hung and the refrigerant lines, cable and drain are routed between them.
  4. Once the electrics are connected, the pipework is tested for leaks and put under vacuum before any refrigerant flows.
  5. Finally, it’s commissioned, tested in each mode and handed over with the F-Gas records.

How to prepare

  • Let us know if the units are on a roof, a high wall or in a locked area
  • Name a contact who can meet us at the agreed time
  • Dig out any previous service or F-Gas records

Ask for a quote

Our prices page gives typical ranges, but your quote is based on your job, because no two buildings, rooms or systems are the same. After a look at the job, by pictures or a survey, the price is fixed. To start, call us on 07833 053749 or email us.

Advice

Looking after it afterwards

Looking after the system is mostly common sense. A few tips:

  • Wash or vacuum the filters as the manual describes
  • File the paperwork with the manual
  • Report drips, noises or error codes right away

We show you how to take the filters out and clean them. In busy periods, clean them every few weeks, or as the manual recommends, and keep space clear around the outdoor unit.

Use sensible settings. Choose the right mode and a comfortable temperature rather than the lowest setting, and close windows and doors while it’s cooling.

System by system

Wall-mounted split systems

A wall-mounted split is the most common choice for a single room. One unit inside, one outside, connected by pipework, a cable and a drain, with the route agreed on the survey.

Ceiling cassettes

A cassette sits flush in a suspended ceiling and spreads air in several directions, which suits offices, shops and open-plan spaces.

How we price air conditioning

Jobs vary more than people expect. What affects the quote:

  • The size of the job
  • What state the existing equipment is in
  • The equipment or parts the job needs

Whatever the property, the quote works the same way: what’s needed, how we reach it, the parts and the labour. Ask for a fixed-price quote and we will explain each part.

Before you get in touch

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote. When you get in touch, it helps to send:

  • The remote or wall controller showing any error
  • Where the property is and what kind of building it is
  • The outside wall, roof or yard where the outdoor unit sits or would go

For a fixed-price quote, call us on 07833 053749 or write to us at info@aircondoctor.co.uk and tell us about the property and what you need. Photos help a lot. You will hear back from us the same working day.
