Air Conditioning Servicing in The Moor
F-Gas certified and NICEIC approved, we cover The Moor for annual servicing and F-Gas leak checks for domestic and commercial air conditioning. Fixed-price quotes and a 24/7 emergency line.
- A musty or damp smell when the unit starts
- Leak check records that need bringing up to date
- Weaker cooling than last year
Why deal with it now?
For most systems at or over 5 tCO2e, leak checks are a legal requirement, not a choice. Skipping a year leaves a gap in the records the rules expect you to keep, and it’s simpler to keep to the schedule. A system that is left with a fault, or without a service, normally costs more to run.
Typical ranges are on our prices page, but your price depends on the job in front of us. For a fixed-price quote, call 07833 053749, and we will talk you through it.

Air conditioning servicing for homes and businesses in The Moor
An air conditioning service is a check and clean of the whole system, indoor and outdoor units together. Filters and coils are cleaned, the drain is cleared, and the electrics, controls and refrigerant performance are all checked. We carry out air conditioning servicing for homes and businesses in The Moor and the rest of Kent, whatever the make. If you are dealing with systems that need a 6 or 12-monthly leak check and drips or damp patches below an indoor unit, we can help.
For a home in or near The Moor, a service once a year suits most systems, ideally in spring before the warm weather.
The records are your system’s health record: what was fitted or found, what was done and when. It makes the next visit quicker and any warranty question simpler, so keep it safe.

What owners can safely do
Some faults have simple causes you can check first: is the system in the right mode, is the set temperature sensible, are the remote’s batteries working and has the breaker tripped. If the breaker trips a second time, leave it off and phone 07833 053749 or send an email.
Leave the units and pipework where they are. Disconnecting a system means dealing with refrigerant, which only a qualified engineer can do, and the electrical side needs a competent person. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.
What we do, step by step
The work area is kept tidy throughout, with dust sheets down and offcuts and packaging cleared up. If we need to drill through a wall, we agree the spot with you first. On site, it takes a short visit for one split system, longer for multi-split, ducted or commercial plant. Somewhere like The Moor, it helps to know about lanes, gates and where to park.
- First, we agree a time and confirm the cost of the service.
- We switch the system on and check it in operation.
- Then the cleaning: filters, coils, fan and the drain line.
- Electrical and refrigerant checks follow, including a leak check if the rules require one.
- A final test run follows, then you get the service record.
Preparing for the visit
- Make sure we can reach the outdoor unit, or where it will go
- Keep pets out of the rooms we’re working in
- Dig out any previous service or F-Gas records
Getting a quote
For a fixed-price quote, phone us on 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form and tell us about the property and what you need. A few pictures make it quicker. You’ll hear back from us the same working day.
Advice
Looking after your system
Every system needs looking after, and most of it is easy. A few tips:
- Diary the next service before this one is forgotten
- Shut doors to the room so the system isn’t cooling the whole house
- Clear leaves and debris from around the outdoor unit
If we find a fault, we explain it and give you a price to put it right. Nothing extra is done without your say-so and the decision is always yours.
Don’t ignore small changes. A new noise, a faint smell or a drip is easier to deal with early than once the system has stopped.
The Moor: your questions answered
Can you do air conditioning servicing in The Moor?
We do: The Moor falls inside our working area. Just ring 07833 053749 or email us with a few details.
How often should air conditioning in The Moor be serviced?
Typically once a year for homes, more often for busy business systems. Business systems may also need F-gas leak checks, at least every 12 months from 5 tonnes CO2 equivalent.
Do you protect the property while you work?
Protection goes down first: dust sheets over floors and anything close to the work. Holes and fixings are agreed with you, and we clean up afterwards when we finish.
What accreditations do you have?
AirCon Doctor is an F-Gas certified company, with NICEIC approval for electrical work and MCS certification for heat pumps. We’re members of Checkatrade too.
Does my air conditioning need an F-gas leak check?
The rules are based on tCO2e, which comes from the refrigerant charge and its GWP. At 5 to under 50 tCO2e, it’s at least every 12 months; at 50 to under 500 tCO2e, every 6 months. Hermetically sealed systems holding less than 10 tCO2e don’t need them.
What do you check on an air conditioning service?
A full clean and check of the system. That means filters, coils and drains, plus electrical connections, controls and refrigerant performance with leak checks where the rules require them.
Will you regas my air conditioning on a service?
The service checks how the refrigerant circuit is performing, but doesn’t include adding gas. If it’s low, a leak repair comes first and the regas follows, priced before we start.
Keeping systems in The Moor running
Central The Moor is inside a conservation area. 2 conservation areas lie within a mile of central The Moor. On the National Heritage List, around 57 entries fall within 0.5 miles of the middle of The Moor; Church of St Laurence (grade I) is one. For most visits that makes no difference. It only comes up when an outdoor unit has to be replaced on a protected building. About 38% of homes in and around The Moor were built before 1919, according to Valuation Office Agency council tax records, and the last census (2021) found about 72% of households in detached or semi-detached houses. Access to the outdoor unit is the one detail that most changes how a visit is planned.
For a school like Marlborough House School, maintenance visits can be booked out of term. Booking before the first hot spell means the system is ready when you need it.
