How we handle air conditioning servicing in Old Shoreham
Air conditioning pulls room air through a filter and across a cold coil many times an hour. Whatever is in the air, from dust to pet hair, collects on the filter and coil. Servicing removes it, so the system can move air properly and the drain can do its job. The work covers ceiling cassettes, air-to-air heat pumps and VRF systems, and people most often call us about a unit showing a fault code and drips or damp patches below an indoor unit.
Several units at a home near Old Shoreham can be serviced in one visit.
Whatever the visit, you get a written record: commissioning details for an installation, a fault and repair note for a repair, or a record of the service. Keep it with the system’s paperwork so it’s to hand next time.

What affects the cost of air conditioning servicing
The survey or diagnosis tells us what the work involves. The main factors are:
- Access, including height, roofs and ladders
- Whether the existing supply is suitable
- A single visit or a regular plan
Homes, offices, shops and public buildings are all priced the same way: what’s needed, how we reach it, the parts and the labour. Call for a fixed-price quote and we’ll go through it with you.
Before you get in touch
You do not need the technical terms. It helps if you can send:
- A close-up of the unit’s label showing the model number
- Photos showing the indoor unit and the space around it
- The outdoor side of the property, including any roof or flat area
To get a fixed-price quote, ring 07833 053749 or send an email and tell us about the property and what you need. A few pictures make it quicker. We reply to enquiries the same working day.
When it’s something else
We will not sell you work that does not address the problem, so these are the things it will not cover:
- Rooms that gain heat faster than any unit could cope with
- Major component failures that call for a repair visit
- Installation faults that need reworking
If you are not sure, just phone us on 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Common questions in Old Shoreham
Will you come out to Old Shoreham?
We do. Villages and hamlets get the same service as the bigger towns. We are based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.
Is the coast a problem for outdoor units in Old Shoreham?
It can, as Old Shoreham is within about 1 mile of the sea, where salt in the air is hard on coils and fixings. A yearly service that rinses and checks the outdoor coil matters more near the sea.
How much does an air conditioning service cost?
From £95 to £150 + VAT for the annual service, confirmed before we book. If the service finds a fault, we price the repair separately and only go ahead if you agree.
Do you have a 24/7 line?
Yes. For anything urgent, such as a system failing in a server room or water leaking from a unit, ring our 24/7 line and we’ll tell you what to do first.
Is a regas part of an air conditioning service?
Refrigerant is only added after the leak that caused the loss has been dealt with. Adding gas without a repair just lets it leak away again, so we don’t recommend it.
How regularly should I have my air conditioning serviced?
We recommend an annual service, with more visits for systems that run a lot. Check your manufacturer’s warranty conditions too, as they may set out servicing requirements.
Can I do the refrigerant work myself?
Not the refrigerant work. Under the F-gas rules, it must be done by qualified engineers from a certified company, and a new electrical circuit is notifiable building work unless a registered competent person does it.
The process
Each visit runs to the same pattern: check the plan with you, protect the area, do the work, check the system and explain it all to you. On site, the work takes anything from an hour for a simple split system to most of a day for a larger installation. Seeing the property in photos first means the trip to Old Shoreham can be planned properly.
- We start with the basics, such as the brand, the number of indoor units and any symptoms.
- The system is run and checked before anything is opened up.
- Filters are cleaned, coils treated and the drain tray and pipe cleared.
- Next come the terminals, the controller and the refrigerant side, with a leak check if the system’s size makes one a legal duty.
- You get a service record, with anything that needs attention explained.
Preparing for the visit
- Make sure someone can let us in at the agreed time
- Clear the space around the indoor unit, or where it will go
- Tell us about any building rules, permits or sign-in
Ask for a quote
Published ranges are a starting point; the quote is built on your property, because every property is different. Once we have looked at the job, from pictures or on a survey, you get a fixed price. To start, ring 07833 053749 or drop us a line.
Related advice
Do you need air conditioning servicing in Old Shoreham?
Each indoor unit makes water when it cools, and that water needs a clear route out. Debris in the tray or a sticky pump can stop it draining, and the water then has nowhere to go but out of the unit.
Common reasons people call us are:
- Condensate leaking into the room
- A musty or damp smell when the unit starts
- A unit showing a fault code
For an office near Shoreham-By-Sea station, servicing can be booked before or after working hours.
What your quote should include
- Which brand and model they’re proposing, and why
- If the figure could change on the day
- Whether extra work needs your approval first
