Keeping the system healthy

Aftercare is straightforward, and it helps at the next service:

  • Diary the next service before this one is forgotten
  • Keep doors and windows closed while the system is cooling
  • Keep the drain outlet clear

If you’d rather not keep track of service dates yourself, ask about a maintenance contract. We agree the visits and the cost up front so you don’t have to remember.

Make sure condensate pipes outside aren’t crushed, blocked or buried. If the outlet is blocked, the water has to go somewhere, and that’s normally back towards the indoor unit.

About our air conditioning servicing in New Street

An annual service is £95–£150 + VAT, confirmed before the visit is booked. Multi-split, ducted and commercial systems are priced once we know what’s there. Either way, you know the cost before the engineer arrives. The work covers multi-split systems, air-to-air heat pumps and ducted systems, and common reasons people get in touch are a service that’s overdue and systems that need a 6 or 12-monthly leak check.

We plan the trip to New Street and can service more than one unit in one visit, which keeps it simple.

Refrigerant work is written up in the F-Gas records: the work carried out, the refrigerant involved and the quantities. Keep the records with the manual and the warranty documents, as a manufacturer or a future engineer may ask to see them.

Why deal with it now?

A service can find a worn part or a loose connection while the system is still running. Left alone, the same fault tends to show itself when you most need the system. Dealing with it now is normally simpler than a breakdown later.

One room or a whole building, we price it on the same basis: what needs doing, how we get to it and what it needs. You will have a fixed price before we start, and the quote sets out the VAT.

Why us?

  • A site survey and a fixed-price quote
  • Electrical work covered by our NICEIC approval
  • MCS certified for heat pumps
  • F-Gas certified company

New Street questions

How often do you service systems in New Street?

For most homes, once a year. Business systems may also need F-gas leak checks, at least every 12 months from 5 tonnes CO2 equivalent.

Is New Street in your area for air conditioning servicing?

Yes. We work across London and the South East from our base in East Grinstead, and New Street is part of that. Tell us a little about the job and we’ll take it from there.

Do I get paperwork after the visit?

Yes. It’s the record a manufacturer or the next engineer will ask to see: the date, the work, and any refrigerant added or recovered.

Do you offer emergency call-outs?

Yes, day and night. Call the emergency line and tell us the make, the symptoms and any error code, and we will advise on what to do next.

Is a regas part of an air conditioning service?

The service checks how the refrigerant circuit is performing, but does not include adding gas. If it’s low, a leak repair comes first and the regas follows with a fixed price for each step.

Can I do any of the installation myself?

No, not the refrigerant side. The F-gas rules require certified companies and qualified engineers for it, and a new circuit is notifiable under Part P unless a registered electrician, such as a NICEIC approved contractor, does it.

Which manufacturers do you install and repair?

The main ones, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. For a new system, we suggest the make and model that suit the property and tell you why.

What we do, step by step

On the day, we arrive at the time agreed with you and check the plan with you first. Floors and furniture near the work are covered with dust sheets, and anything electrical is made safe before work starts. The work itself takes an hour or so for a single wall-mounted unit, longer for a multi-split system. Somewhere like New Street, it helps to know about lanes, gates and where to park.

  1. We ask about the system: the make, the number of indoor units and any problems you’ve noticed.
  2. On arrival, a quick performance check shows how well it’s working before the clean.
  3. Dust and grime come off the filters and coils, and the drain is flushed so water runs away properly.
  4. We check the electrics, the controls and how the refrigerant circuit is performing, and carry out a leak check where the rules call for it.
  5. A service record follows, with any faults and the options for fixing them.

How to prepare

  • Let us know if the units are on a roof, a high wall or in a locked area
  • Let us know where the consumer unit is
  • Mention any parking restrictions near the property

Servicing in New Street: local notes

Central New Street is inside a conservation area. We keep it in mind in case a new outdoor unit is ever needed, as protected buildings can need consent for that. Valuation Office Agency council tax records date about 45% of homes in and around New Street to the post-war years, 1945 to 1972, and about 66% of households live in detached or semi-detached houses, according to Census 2021 figures. Wall bracket, ground pad or flat roof: knowing where the outdoor unit is saves time on the day.

Schools such as Culverstone Green Primary School can book servicing for half term or the summer break, when rooms are empty. Booking before the first hot spell means the system is ready when you need it.

What affects the cost of air conditioning servicing

The survey or diagnosis tells us what the work involves. We look at:

  • What state the existing equipment is in
  • Whether it’s a simple split or a larger system
  • The number of rooms, units or zones

The pipe route, the height of the units and how we reach them can all change the price. We take each of them into account, and the price is fixed before we start.

What we need to know

You do not need the technical terms. Just send:

  • Wide photos of the room or the existing unit
  • Your consumer unit or fuse board
  • The make and model of the system, from the label

Every quote shows the VAT clearly, and the rate that applies to your job is stated. Homes, businesses and different kinds of work can be treated differently for VAT, so we confirm it on the quote. For a fixed-price quote, phone us on 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form.

From one of our customers

“Excellent service from start to finish. Two wall-mounted units installed in our home. Clean, tidy work: they protected all the floors and left no mess. The systems work brilliantly. Would highly recommend.”
