Air conditioning servicing in Kingham

Air conditioning pulls room air through a filter and across a cold coil many times an hour. Dust, fluff and anything else in the air ends up on those parts. Servicing removes it, so the system can move air properly and the drain can do its job. The work covers wall-mounted split systems, VRF systems and ceiling cassettes, and people most often call us about warning lights on the indoor unit and a musty or damp smell when the unit starts.

Several units at a home near Kingham can be serviced in one visit.

If a fault appears while the equipment is under the manufacturer’s warranty, tell us the make, model and installation date. We’ll explain how the manufacturer’s terms are likely to apply before any chargeable work goes ahead.

For landlords and property managers

We regularly work with managing agents. Send the address, what’s needed and how access works, and we’ll send a fixed-price quote.

Larger air conditioning systems in buildings need more than servicing: a TM44 inspection by an accredited energy assessor is required at least every 5 years for systems over 12 kW. We arrange the inspection, get the system ready and put right anything it picks up.

When something else is needed

An honest diagnosis matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what air conditioning servicing will not do:

  • Rooms that gain heat faster than any unit could cope with
  • A system that is too small for the room it serves
  • A refrigerant leak, which needs finding and repairing, not topping up

If in doubt, call us on 07833 053749 or write to us at info@aircondoctor.co.uk and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Where we work

  • Wall-mounted split systems
  • Air-to-air heat pumps
  • VRF systems
  • Multi-split systems
  • Ceiling cassettes
  • Ducted systems

Common problems we fix in Kingham

A slow leak can go unnoticed for a long time. The system just cools or heats a little less well each year and only becomes obvious when the weather is at its extreme.

If any of these sounds familiar, it’s worth a diagnosis:

  • No service record for the last year or more
  • Warning lights on the indoor unit
  • Ice forming on the pipework or outdoor unit

Schools such as Kingham Primary School can book servicing for half term or the summer break, when rooms are empty.

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether they hold F-Gas company certification, not just individual qualifications
  • What happens if the job turns out to be different on the day
  • Whether the quote is a fixed price

Questions to ask before you book

Your questions about air conditioning servicing in Kingham

Do you cover smaller places like Kingham?

Yes, and the size of the place makes no difference to how we work. A few photos and the postcode are enough to get things started.

Do you cover Kingham for air conditioning servicing?

Yes. Kingham is one of the places we cover. Just ring 07833 053749 or use the quote form with a few details.

Is there a survey before the work?

Yes. Photos often do the job for simple work, while bigger systems and repairs that need testing get a visit.

When is an F-gas leak check required?

The GOV.UK rules set leak checks at least every 12 months for 5 to under 50 tCO2e and every 6 months for 50 to under 500 tCO2e. Fitting leak detection lets you double the interval and we’ll confirm which band applies.

Whose job is it to check the system for leaks?

The operator of the equipment, working with qualified engineers. Systems below 5 tCO2e fall outside the set leak check intervals, while larger ones need checks at least every 12 months, or every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We can tell you which band your system falls into.

What’s the price of a yearly air conditioning service?

£95–£150 + VAT covers the annual service, confirmed before we book. If the service finds a fault, we price the repair separately and only go ahead if you agree.

How do you keep the place clean during the work?

We put dust sheets over floors and furniture near the work first, and we tidy up as we go. At the end, we clear up and show you what we have done.

How it works

Think of the visit in three stages: look, put right and sign off. First we check the system or the space against the plan, then the work itself, and finally everything is tested, recorded and explained. The middle part takes longest, which takes an hour or so for a single wall-mounted unit, longer for a multi-split system. Somewhere like Kingham, it helps to know about lanes, gates and where to park.

  1. We ask about the system: the make, the number of indoor units and any problems you’ve noticed.
  2. The system is run and checked before anything is opened up.
  3. Filters are cleaned, coils treated and the drain tray and pipe cleared.
  4. We check the electrics, the controls and how the refrigerant circuit is performing, and carry out a leak check where the rules call for it.
  5. We leave you a record of the service and explain anything we found.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about parking and loading
  • Give us access to the outside wall, roof or yard where the outdoor unit sits
  • Arrange for someone to be there to let us in

Photos are enough for some jobs; others need a visit first. Multi-room systems, commercial buildings and anything with a long or hidden pipe route are normally surveyed first. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work is booked.
