How we handle air conditioning servicing in Charlbury

An annual service is £95–£150 + VAT, confirmed before the visit is booked. Larger systems with several indoor units, ducted units or commercial plant are priced on their details. Either way, you know the cost before the engineer arrives. If you are dealing with condensate leaking into the room and systems that need a 6 or 12-monthly leak check, we can sort it out.

A service around Charlbury is booked to suit you, and most single systems take an hour or two.

For a fault on a system that may still be under warranty, send us the make, model and installation date. We will explain how the manufacturer’s terms are likely to apply before any chargeable work goes ahead.

The process

The first job on site is protection: sheets over the floor and any furniture nearby and nothing is moved without asking you. After that, anything electrical is made safe and we start. The work on site takes around an hour for one indoor and one outdoor unit, with extra time for each additional indoor unit, and we clear up before we go. In a place like Charlbury, parking is rarely an issue, but tell us about gates and access to the back of the property.

  1. We start with the details of the system and anything you’ve noticed.
  2. Each indoor unit has its covers lifted so the filters, coil and tray can be cleaned.
  3. The outdoor unit gets its own clean, with leaves and debris cleared away.
  4. Electrical connections, controls and refrigerant performance are tested.
  5. Anything we find is explained, with a fixed price if it needs a repair.

How to prepare

  • Find the manual or the paperwork for the system, if you have it
  • Clear a path to the units and the space around them
  • Let us know where the consumer unit is

Your questions about air conditioning servicing in Charlbury

How often do you service systems in Charlbury?

For most homes, once a year. Larger systems holding 5 tonnes CO2 equivalent or more also need a leak check at least every 12 months under the F-gas rules.

Is Charlbury in your area for air conditioning servicing?

We do: Charlbury falls inside our working area. Just call 07833 053749 with a few details.

Do you work on commercial properties?

Yes. We work for homeowners, landlords, letting and managing agents, and businesses of every size across London and the South East. Let us know who the records should go to.

Do you top up refrigerant during a service?

A service doesn’t include adding refrigerant. If a system has lost refrigerant, it has leaked from somewhere. We check the refrigerant performance, and if we suspect a leak we explain how it can be found and repaired.

Can I have a maintenance contract for my air conditioning?

We do. A contract sets out how often we visit and what each visit covers with the price fixed when you accept the quote. It suits anyone who would rather not track service dates.

What’s included in an air conditioning service?

Both the indoor and outdoor units are checked and cleaned: the filters, coils, drain and fans, followed by the wiring, controls and refrigerant performance. You get a record of the visit.

Is there a survey before the work?

Yes. For simple jobs, photos and a few details can be enough, while bigger systems and repairs that need testing get a visit.

Rented and managed buildings

Landlords, letting agents and managing agents book us, not only the people who live or work in the property. Let us know who will give us access and who the records should go to, and we will keep everyone informed.

For anyone managing more than one building, we can plan visits across the portfolio and price them together. Every address has its own paperwork, so each one has its own history.

Honest limits

Before you book, it helps to know what’s not included:

  • Heat from large windows, roof spaces or equipment beyond the system’s capacity
  • Pipework or drainage that was badly installed in the first place
  • Cooling capacity that does not match the space

If you’re not sure, just phone 07833 053749 or drop us a line and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Parts of the system we cover

  • Multi-split systems
  • Ducted systems
  • Wall-mounted split systems
  • VRF systems
  • Ceiling cassettes
  • Air-to-air heat pumps

Owner checks or an engineer?

Leave the units and pipework where they are. Disconnecting a system means dealing with refrigerant, which only a qualified engineer can do, and the electrical side needs a competent person. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.

On air conditioning, the filters in the indoor unit are usually the one part owners can clean where the manufacturer’s manual explains how. With the power off, they lift out, can be vacuumed or rinsed and must be fully dry before they go back. On a heat pump, the equivalent is keeping the outdoor unit clear and checking the controls.

From one of our customers

“Excellent service from start to finish. Two wall-mounted units installed in our home. Clean, tidy work: they protected all the floors and left no mess. The systems work brilliantly. Would highly recommend.”
