Your questions about air conditioning repair in Hardham
Is there an emergency air con repair line for Hardham?
Yes. Our 24/7 emergency line covers Hardham. A diagnosis call-out starts from £75 + VAT, and knowing the brand and the symptoms helps us plan it.
Is Hardham within the area you cover?
Yes. Hardham is within the area we cover across London and the South East. Visits to smaller places are planned so the engineer arrives with what the job needs.
Why is my air conditioning leaking water?
Most leaks come from a blocked drain, a failed pump or a unit that has dropped out of level. Ice that forms on the coil and melts can cause drips too. Switch the unit off and phone us on 07833 053749 or use the quote form.
How much does an air conditioning repair cost?
It starts with a diagnosis call-out from £75 + VAT, and then you get a fixed price for the repair. Nothing goes ahead without your agreement.
Can you still repair R410A air conditioning?
Yes. Any leak is repaired before recharging, and the work is recorded and we will give you an honest view on whether it’s worth it.
Can I do any of the installation myself?
Anything that involves the refrigerant needs an F-Gas qualified engineer from a certified company. That’s the law, not just our preference, and manufacturers expect it for their warranty too. We’re happy to quote for the full job, supply to commissioning.
Do you survey before quoting?
Yes, always. We diagnose before we treat: the survey shows what’s needed, where things go and what access we need, and the quote is based on that.

A diagnosis call-out is from £75 + VAT. Once we know the cause, you get a fixed price for the repair before any work goes ahead and nothing goes ahead without your say-so. If you are dealing with an error code or flashing light on the unit and weak airflow from the indoor unit, we can help.
A visit to Hardham is planned so we can typically finish in one go, though some parts have to be ordered from the manufacturer.
The records are your system’s health record: what was fitted or found, what was done and when. If anything goes wrong later, it helps the next engineer and the manufacturer, so keep it safe.

What affects the quote in Hardham
Before we fix a price, we need to know a few things. We check:
- The number of rooms, units or zones
- What electrical work the job needs
- How far the pipework has to run, and where
Typical ranges are on our prices page, but each job is priced on what it involves. Call for a fixed-price quote, and we’ll explain what it covers.
What to send for a quote
Before you ask for a quote, gather:
- The rating plate or label on any existing unit
- Your consumer unit or fuse board
- A short video of any fault, such as a noise or a flashing light
Quoting starts with a diagnosis, from a site survey or, where the job is straightforward, from photos and measurements. After that, we send a fixed price before any work starts.
What happens on the day
There’s very little for you to do on the day. Just let us in and point us to the units, or to where they’ll be fitted, and we take it from there. At the end, we tidy up and run through the work with you. If a lane or gateway near Hardham is tight for a van, let us know and we will plan for it.
- Tell us the make, the symptoms and any error code, and send a photo of the display if you can.
- On the diagnosis visit, the engineer tests the system rather than guessing.
- Nothing is repaired until you’ve heard what’s wrong and agreed a fixed price.
- The fix goes in, with any refrigerant work tested and written into the F-Gas records.
- Before leaving, we run it through its modes and write up what was found and done.
Preparing for the visit
- Let us know if the units are on a roof, a high wall or in a locked area
- Move furniture away from the wall where we will be working
- Plan for pets to be kept clear during the visit
How to get a quote
Our prices page gives typical ranges, but your quote is based on your job, because every property is different. After a look at the job, by pictures or a survey, the price is fixed. To start, phone 07833 053749 or write to us at info@aircondoctor.co.uk.
Advice
Looking after your system
Looking after it is simple, and it helps at the next service:
- Turn the system off if it’s dripping water
- Only let an F-Gas qualified engineer work on the refrigerant
- Keep to the service interval the manufacturer recommends
You get a note of the fault and what we did: what was wrong, what was replaced and any refrigerant work. Any refrigerant work is recorded in the F-Gas records and it belongs with the system’s paperwork.
Clean the filters regularly. Blocked filters cut airflow, which can lead to poor cooling, ice on the coil and drips and the manual shows how to clean them.
Why deal with it now?
Running with a fault wastes electricity. A dirty coil, a blocked filter or a low refrigerant charge all make the system work harder for less cooling and the extra work wears the parts faster. A system that’s left with a fault, or without a service, normally costs more to run.
The pipe route, the height of the units and how we reach them can all change the price. We take each of them into account, and the price is fixed before we start.
