Air conditioning repair for homes and businesses in Chenies
Refrigerant doesn’t get used up, so a low charge means a leak somewhere. Simply adding gas means it will leak away again. We locate the leak, repair it, test, evacuate and recharge and write it up in the F-Gas records. We’re often asked to deal with a system that needs topping up again and water leaking from the unit or through the ceiling, on ceiling cassettes, ducted systems and VRF systems.
We plan the trip to Chenies so the repair can be finished in one visit where possible, though some parts have to be ordered from the manufacturer.
Warranty periods vary by brand and by product. For example, Daikin’s standard warranty on split air conditioning is 2 years, and its longer extensions apply to its air-to-water units only. Whatever the brand, the manufacturer’s terms are explained on your quote.

The process
Each visit runs to the same pattern: agree the plan on site, put the dust sheets down, do the work, check the system and explain it all to you. The visit itself takes anything from an hour or so to a full day, depending on the fault and the parts. Visits to Chenies are agreed with you in advance and planned so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.
- You describe the fault, the make and any error code, ideally with a photo.
- On the diagnosis visit, the engineer tests the system rather than guessing.
- Once the cause is found, we explain it and fix the price for the repair.
- The fix goes in, with any refrigerant work tested and written into the F-Gas records.
- We run the system, check it’s working properly and note anything else that needs attention.
Before we arrive
- Clear a path to the units and the space around them
- Make sure we can reach the consumer unit or fuse board
- Dig out any previous service or F-Gas records
Getting a quote
Photos are the fastest route to a quote: the inside and outside of the property where the work is, plus the rating plate of any unit already there. Add the address and what you’d like done, and simple jobs can often be priced without a visit.

Chenies questions
Is Chenies in your area for air conditioning repair?
We do: Chenies falls inside our working area. Get in touch with the details and we reply the same working day.
Do you cover smaller places like Chenies?
Yes. Chenies is within the area we cover across London and the South East. A few pictures and the postcode are enough to get things started.
What does an air con repair cost?
The first step is a diagnosis, from £75 + VAT, and then you get a fixed price for the repair. You decide before any repair work starts.
What does the error code on my air conditioning mean?
Each manufacturer uses its own codes, and one code can have more than one cause. Send us a photo of the display with the make and model and we will test the system to confirm the cause.
Do you work on commercial properties?
Yes. From one rented home to commercial buildings, the approach is the same: a look first, a fixed-price quote and written records.
Is it legal to repair an R410A system?
Yes. Repairing and recharging existing R410A systems is still legal. As the GB phase-down continues, R410A is getting harder and dearer to buy, so for older systems we compare the cost of a repair with a replacement.
What warranty do I get?
Warranty comes from the manufacturer and depends on the brand and product. For instance, Daikin’s standard warranty on split air conditioning is 2 years, and we explain the terms for whichever brand you choose.
How the job changes from property to property
Circuit boards and sensors
Circuit boards and temperature sensors control how the system runs. Sensor faults can stop the system or confuse it and boards can fail with age or after electrical problems.
Fans and compressors
The compressor is the heart of the system. Compressor faults can sometimes be caused by something else, such as an electrical fault or a refrigerant problem, so we test before condemning it. If it has failed, we compare the cost of repair with replacement.
Air conditioning repair around Chenies
The centre of Chenies lies within the Chenies and Latimer Conservation Area. Listed buildings are part of the picture here: about 36 within half a mile of the centre, such as The Manor House (grade I). Swapping an outdoor unit on a listed building or in a conservation area may need consent, so we’ll flag it if a replacement is needed. About 44% of homes in Chenies and the neighbourhoods around it date from 1945 to 1972, according to VOA council tax data, and the last census (2021) found about 68% of households in detached or semi-detached houses. Tell us where your outdoor unit is and how to reach it, so we can plan the visit.
Schools such as Chenies School can report a fault on the 24/7 line and have non-urgent work done out of term. The rating label on the unit gives the model number, which helps us bring the right parts.

How we price air conditioning repair
Before we fix a price, we need to know a few things. We look at:
- The brand, model and parts involved
- The type of system, from a single split to a larger system
- The number of rooms, units or zones
Putting several jobs into one visit can make for a more efficient booking. Mention every unit or room you need covered and we will price it together.
What to send for a quote
Photos and a few facts are often enough to price a simple job. Useful things to send:
- Photos showing the indoor unit and the space around it
- The outside wall, roof or yard where the outdoor unit sits or would go
- A photo of the consumer unit with the cover closed
To help us quote: where the property is and what kind of building it is, a few photos, the make and model of any existing system and any symptoms, from error codes to drips. Then ring 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form.
