About air conditioning in RG5
Across RG5, every installation follows the same steps: a site survey, or photos for simple jobs, then a fixed-price quote, the installation, commissioning and F-Gas records. You know the price before we start and the paperwork is in your hands when we finish. We’re often asked to deal with an old system that needs replacing and rooms under the roof that stay hot into the night, on wall-mounted split systems, VRF systems and ducted systems.
Refrigerant work is done by qualified engineers working for an F-Gas certified company, while the electrical side is covered by our NICEIC approval. So on the day, you don’t need a separate electrician for the electrical side. On site, it takes a day for most single-room installations, with multi-split, ducted and cassette systems taking longer.
- We survey the property, or work from your pictures for a simple job.
- The system is sized, positions are agreed and the price is fixed.
- We protect the area, then fit both halves of the system.
- We run and connect the pipes, cable and drain, then pressure test and evacuate the circuit.
- We commission, show you the controls and leave the F-Gas and warranty paperwork.
What affects the price in RG5
Putting the work off seldom saves money. Faults and wear in a system tend to grow, and a system working harder than it should costs more to run. If you are not sure what’s needed, ring 07833 053749 or send an email and we will give you an honest view and a fixed price.
Why book with us
- A fixed price before any work starts
- A reply the same working day
- MCS certification for heat pump work
- Warranty terms set out brand by brand
How to get a quote
Here’s what helps us quote: where the property is and what kind of building it is, a few photos, the brand and model of anything already fitted and anything you’ve noticed, such as an error code or a noise. Then call 07833 053749 or use the quote form.

Where we install in RG5
Our air conditioning work across RG5 takes in places such as Woodley and the smaller places around them. We cover every place we list for RG5, 1 in all.
An F-Gas certified company does the refrigerant side, and the electrics come under our NICEIC approval, in RG5 as everywhere else.
Woodley: A loft bedroom or a glazed extension is often the room that prompts the first call. Older streets near United Reformed Church may fall within a conservation area, so we check the planning position before choosing where the outdoor unit goes.
How we price air conditioning
Jobs vary more than people expect. The main factors:
- Whether we need access equipment for high-level work
- What state the existing equipment is in
- The pipe route between the units
- Whether the existing supply is suitable
What you pay depends on the system and the number of rooms or units, the access and the parts and time the job needs. You get a fixed price before work begins, so there are no surprises.
What to send for a quote
When you call or email, it’s useful to have:
- The outside wall, roof or yard where the outdoor unit sits or would go
- The address and the type of property
- The paperwork from the last service, if you have it
- The rating plate or label on any existing unit
Quoting starts with a diagnosis, either on a site survey or, for simple jobs, from your pictures and details. Then you get a fixed price so you know the cost before we begin.
What air conditioning cannot fix
Air conditioning can’t fix everything, and we will tell you before work begins. It won’t put right:
- Central heating repairs
- Heat loss through very poor insulation (a system will heat the room, but insulation is a separate job)
- Damp from leaks or a lack of ventilation
Let and managed properties
For anyone managing more than one building, we can quote and plan the work across all of them. Each property gets its own records, so the files stay tidy.
We regularly work with managing agents. Tell us the property, the work and the access arrangements, and we will send a fixed-price quote.
Different systems, different jobs
Pipework and condensate drains
The indoor and outdoor units are joined by insulated refrigerant pipes, a cable and a condensate drain. The route is agreed before any drilling, and keep it as short and neat as the building allows.
Ducted systems
Ducted systems need space for the unit and the ductwork plus an access hatch for maintenance. The survey confirms whether there’s room.
Your questions about air conditioning in RG5
Can I do any of the installation myself?
The refrigerant side has to be done by a qualified engineer working for an F-Gas certified company. That’s a legal requirement, and it also matters for the manufacturer’s warranty. We can quote for the whole job, from supply to commissioning.
Do you protect the property while you work?
Floors and furniture near the work are covered with dust sheets before work begins, and the area is kept tidy throughout. At the end, we clear up and show you what we’ve done.
Which accreditations do you hold?
We’re an F-Gas certified company, with NICEIC approval for electrical work and MCS certification for heat pumps. We’re also Checkatrade members.
Will skipping a service affect the warranty?
It can, for some brands. Send us the make and model and we will tell you what the manufacturer expects and stick to the interval they set.
Do you provide F-Gas records?
Yes. You get a written record of every visit, and any work on the refrigerant circuit goes in the F-Gas records. Keep them with the manual and the warranty documents.
How do you size the system?
Floor area is only part of it. Windows, the direction the room faces, the roof above and the people and equipment in it all count and the survey covers each of them.
Can I have air conditioning in a flat?
It depends on the building and the lease. Balconies, flat roofs and rear walls can all work, subject to consent and the survey looks at every option. This is general information, not legal advice.
