Air conditioning across CB10: what to expect

Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi are among the brands we fit. We recommend a model on the survey and explain why it suits the room, and the manufacturer’s warranty terms are set out on your quote. The work covers ducted systems, ceiling cassettes and air-to-air heat pumps, and people most often call us about a home office that warms up with screens and equipment and old electric heaters you’d like to replace with something more efficient.

Protection comes first: sheets over the floor and any furniture nearby and nothing is moved without asking you. Then the electrics are made safe and the work begins. It takes about a day for a single-room system, longer for multi-room and ducted systems, and we tidy up before we leave.

  1. We survey the property, or work from your photos for a simple job.
  2. The system is sized, positions are agreed and the price is fixed.
  3. On the day, dust sheets go down and the indoor and outdoor units are fitted.
  4. We run and connect the pipes, cable and drain, then pressure test and evacuate the circuit.
  5. The system is commissioned, the controls explained and the F-Gas records handed over.

How we quote

Several rooms, units or sites on one quote often makes better use of the time. Mention every unit or room you need covered, and you’ll get one fixed price.

Why book with us

  • A 24/7 emergency line
  • Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba and more
  • Electrical work covered by our NICEIC approval
  • MCS certification for heat pump work

Getting a price

VAT is set out clearly on every quote, with the rate that applies to your job. Homes, businesses and different kinds of work can be treated differently for VAT, so we confirm it on the quote. For a fixed-price quote, call us on 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier.

Where we install in CB10

From Saffron Walden, Great Chesterford and Ickleton outwards, CB10 has every kind of home. We survey every property before we quote, then a fixed-price quote.

We’re based in East Grinstead and work across London and the South East, CB10 included. Every job starts with a site survey or pictures, then a fixed-price quote.

Saffron Walden: Living close to Saffron Walden Baptist Church? Some older properties in parts like that are protected, and the survey finds out whether yours is. Audley End House (roughly 1.1 miles west) shows the area has its share of heritage. A listed home needs consent before an outdoor unit or pipework goes on.

Fixed-price quotes for air conditioning in CB10

We quote each job individually. This is what makes a difference:

  • The size of the job
  • What we find on the survey or diagnosis
  • The equipment or parts the job needs
  • Whether the existing supply is suitable

Leaving a fault or an overdue service rarely makes the work cheaper. Small problems, from blocked filters to slow leaks, tend to get worse, and a system working harder than it should costs more to run. If you are not sure what’s needed, ring 07833 053749 or use the quote form for straight advice and a fixed price.

Helping us quote

Good photos often save a visit. Try to include:

  • The remote or wall controller showing any error
  • A photo of the consumer unit with the cover closed
  • Your installation or service records
  • The postcode and whether it’s a home, flat or business

Published ranges are a starting point; the quote is built on your property, because no two buildings, rooms or systems are the same. After a look at the job, by pictures or a survey, the price is fixed. To start, call us on 07833 053749 or email us.

Owner checks or an engineer?

For air conditioning, cleaning the indoor unit’s filters is the main job owners can do, if the manual says so. With the power off, they lift out, can be vacuumed or rinsed and must be fully dry before they go back. For a heat pump, the main owner jobs are a clear outdoor unit and sensible control settings.

Owner care supports servicing; it doesn’t replace it. Simple care keeps the air moving through the system, but the inside of the units, the refrigerant and the electrics still need a qualified engineer.

When it’s something else

Before booking, it helps to know what’s not included:

  • Stuffy rooms that need fresh air rather than cooling
  • Damp from leaks or a lack of ventilation
  • An installation that needs consent nobody has given yet

What happens if it’s left?

The best time to plan air conditioning is before the hot weather, not during it. A rushed choice is often the wrong size or in the wrong place, and that is hard to put right later. Booking the survey early gives you time to weigh up the options.

Questions to ask before booking

  • Whether the company is F-Gas certified, and whether you can check it
  • What paperwork you’ll receive afterwards
  • Who does the electrical work, and whether they can certify it
  • What happens if the job turns out to be different on the day

Your questions about air conditioning in CB10

What size air conditioning unit do I need?

Floor area is only part of it. Windows, the direction the room faces, the roof above and the people and equipment in it all count and the survey covers each of them.

Do you look at the job first?

Yes. Photos often do the job for simple work, while larger systems and faults that need testing are seen on site.

Can air conditioning heat my home as well?

Normally, yes. Running as a heat pump, it moves heat in from outside rather than making it from electricity alone. To replace your main heating, there are extra conditions, including for the £2,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant for air-to-air heat pumps.

Do you work in CB10?

Yes. We work in CB10 and the rest of Essex, within the London and South East area we cover. For a fixed-price quote, ring 07833 053749 or email us.

How long does air conditioning installation take?

Most single-room systems take a day. Multi-split, ducted and cassette systems take longer, and we tell you how long on the quote.

What does F-Gas certified mean?

Certification shows a business is approved to work on systems that hold F gas refrigerant. That is not optional: it’s required by law, and AirCon Doctor is certified.

Do I need a new electrical circuit?

Most systems need their own supply from the consumer unit. Under Part P, a new circuit has to be notified unless a registered competent person does it, and as NICEIC approved contractors we install and certify it as part of the job.
