Looking after it afterwards

Looking after the system is mostly common sense. A few tips:

  • Review older R410A systems before they need major repairs
  • Tell us early about fit-outs or changes of use
  • Book a maintenance contract to keep servicing on schedule

Should anything seem off after handover, phone 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form and we’ll look into it. Our 24/7 emergency line covers breakdowns.

Replace ageing systems on your own timetable, particularly where they use R410A.

Commercial air conditioning for homes and businesses in East Hill

Installation is only the start. A maintenance contract keeps servicing and leak checks on schedule, with the records kept up to date, at a price fixed with your quote. Our 24/7 emergency line is there if something goes wrong. If you are dealing with F-gas leak checks and records that are overdue and new tenancies needing cooling and heating, we can help.

For a business near East Hill, outdoor units normally have room at the back of the building, out of sight and away from neighbours.

Think of the paperwork as the system’s health record: what was fitted or found, what was done and when. It makes the next visit quicker and any warranty question simpler and it’s worth keeping safe.

East Hill: your questions answered

Can I fit air conditioning in East Hill without planning permission?

There’s no single answer: the building and the outdoor unit position decide it. Central East Hill sits inside a conservation area. Put simply: reversible systems on houses can be permitted development, cooling-only ones cannot, listed buildings need consent, and conservation areas limit outdoor units facing a road. When your property needs a decision, we contact the local planning authority (for East Hill, usually Sevenoaks council).

Do you cover smaller places like East Hill?

Yes, and the size of the place makes no difference to how we work. We are based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.

Do you look at the job first?

Yes. Every job is looked at first, on a survey, or from your pictures and details where the job is simple. A fixed-price quote follows.

How often is a TM44 inspection needed?

The threshold is 12 kW of effective rated output, with inspections at least every 5 years. An accredited energy assessor does the inspection, and we can carry out the recommended work.

What types of commercial air conditioning do you install?

Splits, multi-splits, cassettes, ducted units and VRF from the major manufacturers. We explain the options after a site survey.

Do you offer maintenance contracts?

Yes. Maintenance contracts are part of what we do, set at the interval the system and the manufacturer’s terms need. Every visit is recorded and F-Gas records kept where they apply.

Can you look at a system you didn’t fit?

Yes. Systems fitted by other companies are fine, on all the main brands. Tell us the make and model and send any paperwork you have.

The process

You don’t need to do much on the day. Just let us in and point us to the units, or to where they’ll be fitted, and the rest is down to us. At the end, we tidy up and run through the work with you. We agree a date with you and plan the visit to East Hill so we arrive with what’s needed.

  1. It starts with a survey on site, looking at the space, the people in it and the equipment.
  2. We send a fixed-price quote showing the system, the unit positions and how the work will be phased.
  3. Installation is scheduled to fit the business, with out-of-hours and phased work where needed.
  4. On site, the team mounts the plant, runs and proves the pipework, and wires the controls.
  5. We commission the system, record the refrigerant details and hand over the controls and documents.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know if the units are on a roof, a high wall or in a locked area
  • Clear a path to the units and the space around them
  • Give us access to the outside wall, roof or yard where the outdoor unit sits

Published ranges are a starting point; the quote is built on your property, because every property is different. Once we’ve looked at the job, from pictures or on a survey, you get a fixed price. To get going, ring 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form.

Advice

Different systems, different jobs

Hotels and schools

In schools, the holidays are the natural time for installation, with the programme agreed well in advance.

Offices

Offices gain heat from occupants, equipment and the sun. The system is sized for what the space really needs with units that fit the layout.

Why deal with it now?

Where the system is over 12 kW, a TM44 inspection is due at least every 5 years. Acting on the findings can improve how the system runs, and we can carry out the work. Getting the date in early helps for a place like East Hill.

Leaving a fault or an overdue service rarely makes the work cheaper. Small problems, from blocked filters to slow leaks, tend to get worse, and a system working harder than it should costs more to run. If you’re unsure, call 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier and we’ll give you an honest view and a fixed price.
