Air conditioning servicing for homes and businesses in Snowdown

An air conditioning service is a check and clean of the whole system, indoor and outdoor units together. We clean the filters and coils, clear the condensate drain, check the electrics and controls, and look at how the refrigerant circuit is performing. We service systems in Snowdown and across Kent, whatever the make. The work covers VRF systems, multi-split systems and wall-mounted split systems, and the jobs we see most are ice forming on the pipework or outdoor unit and F-gas leak checks falling due.

In a village like Snowdown, outdoor units often face hedges, fields or gardens, where seeds and leaves collect on the coil. A yearly service clears them.

Each manufacturer sets its own warranty period. For example, Daikin’s standard warranty on split air conditioning is 2 years, and its longer extensions apply to its air-to-water units only. Whatever the brand, the manufacturer’s terms are explained on your quote.

Snowdown questions

Does my air con in Snowdown need a yearly service?

Once a year suits most home systems. Business systems may also need F-gas leak checks, at least every 12 months from 5 tonnes CO2 equivalent.

Do you cover smaller places like Snowdown?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We’re based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.

How quickly will you reply?

The same working day. After that, we agree a survey, diagnosis or installation date that suits you, with a fixed price before work starts.

When is an F-gas leak check required?

Only if the system is at or above the threshold of 5 tCO2e. Plenty of small splits sit under it, as 3 kg of R32 works out at about 2.0 tCO2e. We read the charge from the label and work it out for you.

Do you offer air conditioning maintenance contracts?

Yes, for homes and businesses. The visits, what each covers and the price are agreed with your quote and the servicing happens on time.

Is a regas part of an air conditioning service?

A regas is a separate job, done once a leak has been found and fixed. Topping up without finding the leak means the gas escapes again, so we don’t recommend it.

Do you have a 24/7 line?

Yes. Our emergency line runs 24/7 for breakdowns that cannot wait. Call 07833 053749 and tell us what’s happened.

What happens on the day

The work area is kept tidy throughout, with sheets down and mess cleared as we go. If we need to drill through a wall, we agree the spot with you first. On site, it takes an hour or so for a single wall-mounted unit, longer for a multi-split system. Photos of the existing unit help with repairs and servicing in Snowdown.

  1. It begins with a few questions about the make, the rooms served and any symptoms.
  2. The indoor units are opened up and the filters, coils and drain trays cleaned.
  3. The outdoor unit is cleaned and checked, and debris cleared from around it.
  4. We test the electrics, the controls and how the refrigerant circuit is performing.
  5. We explain what we found and price any repair before it’s done.

Pricing air conditioning servicing in Snowdown

Every job gets its own quote. These are the things that affect it:

  • The pipe route between the units
  • How many units are involved
  • The equipment or parts the job needs

What you pay depends on the system and the number of rooms or units, how easy the units are to reach and what the work involves. We give you a fixed price before we start, so there are no surprises.

Asking for a quote

A few details help us quote accurately. With your enquiry, please include:

  • The address and the type of property
  • The rating plate or label on any existing unit
  • A short video of any fault, such as a noise or a flashing light

Want a quote for air conditioning servicing? Please call us on 07833 053749 or write to us at info@aircondoctor.co.uk with a few details about the property. We will explain what we’d recommend and why, then send a fixed-price quote before anything is booked.

What air conditioning will not do

We’d rather tell you now than sell you work that won’t help, so these are the things it will not cover:

  • A unit that was undersized when it was chosen
  • Poor original installation, such as drains without a proper fall
  • A system short of gas because of a leak

If in doubt, ring us on 07833 053749 or write to us at info@aircondoctor.co.uk and we’ll say what we think.

What the work covers

  • Multi-split systems
  • Ducted systems
  • Wall-mounted split systems
  • VRF systems
  • Ceiling cassettes
  • Air-to-air heat pumps

Looking after your system

Looking after the system is mostly common sense. A few tips:

  • Report drips, smells or noises early
  • Rinse the indoor unit filters every few weeks when the system is in heavy use
  • Leave space around the outdoor unit for air to flow

Put the next service in the diary right away. Many people book in spring, before the cooling season, or in autumn if they use the system for heating although we service all year round.

Check that the condensate pipe outside can still drain. If the outlet is blocked, the water has to go somewhere, and that’s normally back towards the indoor unit.

A customer’s words

“Office air con broke down in the July heatwave. Called at 8am, engineer was here by noon and fixed within 2 hours. Brilliant emergency response. They now hold the service contract for the whole building.”
