Air conditioning servicing in Lower End, done properly
People in Lower End book a service for all sorts of reasons: smells at start-up, a unit that struggles on hot days, drips from the indoor unit, or a service that is overdue. The same full set of checks applies whatever prompted the call. If the problem is ice forming on the pipework or outdoor unit and a musty or damp smell when the unit starts, we can help.
We plan the trip to Lower End and can service more than one unit in one visit.
Looking after a system is mostly common sense: keep the outdoor unit clear, follow the manufacturer’s guidance on cleaning and book a service at the interval they recommend. It also keeps you on the right side of any warranty terms that ask for servicing.

Your questions about air conditioning servicing in Lower End
Will you come out to Lower End?
Yes, and the size of the place makes no difference to how we work. Visits to smaller places are planned so the engineer arrives with what the job needs.
Can you do air conditioning servicing in Lower End?
Yes, Lower End is within the area we cover. To start, phone us on 07833 053749 with a few photos.
Whose job is it to check the system for leaks?
Whoever operates the equipment, together with the technicians who service it. Systems below 5 tCO2e fall outside the set leak check intervals, while larger ones need checks at least every 12 months, or every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We will work out which band applies to yours.
What do you check on an air conditioning service?
A full clean and check of the system. Filters, coils and drains are cleaned, and the electrics, controls and refrigerant circuit checked, and F-gas leak checks where they apply.
What’s the price of a yearly air conditioning service?
The price for an annual service is £95–£150 + VAT. You’ll know the price before the engineer arrives, and larger multi-split, ducted or commercial systems are priced on their details.
Can you come out in an emergency?
Yes. There’s a 24/7 emergency line for problems that can’t wait for a planned visit. Call 07833 053749 and tell us what’s happened.
Do you protect the property while you work?
Floors and furniture near the work are covered with dust sheets before we start, and the area is kept tidy throughout. Before we leave, we clear up and run through the work with you.

How it works
Anything involving refrigerant is handled by F-Gas qualified engineers, as the law requires, while the electrical side is covered by our NICEIC approval. On the day, both are in the same hands. On site, it takes around an hour for one indoor and one outdoor unit, with extra time for each additional indoor unit. We agree a date with you and plan the visit to Lower End so we arrive with what’s needed.
- It begins with a few questions about the make, the rooms served and any symptoms.
- Each indoor unit has its covers lifted so the filters, coil and tray can be cleaned.
- Outside, the coil is cleaned, the fan checked and the area cleared.
- We test the electrics, the controls and how the refrigerant circuit is performing.
- If a repair is needed, you hear why and what it costs before anything is done.
Preparing for the visit
- Plan for pets to be kept clear during the visit
- Let us know if the units are on a roof, a high wall or in a locked area
- Tell us about parking and loading

What you can do yourself, and what needs us
Never try to top up, release or handle refrigerant yourself. The law requires anyone working on equipment containing F gas to hold the right qualifications, and the company to be certified, and refrigerant lines can cause cold burns. A suspected leak is our job, not yours.
Good habits make our visits easier, not unnecessary. Clean filters and a clear outdoor unit help the system run as it should, but the refrigerant circuit, the electrics and the parts you can’t see still need an engineer at the interval the manufacturer recommends.
System by system
Filters
Filters catch dust before it reaches the coil. On a service, they’re cleaned and checked for tears, and if a filter is past its best we tell you.
Wall-mounted, ducted and cassette units
Wall-mounted units are the most common indoor unit in homes. They open up for the filters, coil and fan to be cleaned, and the drain is checked at the same time.

When something else is needed
We will always give you a straight diagnosis, so here’s what air conditioning servicing will not do:
- A refrigerant leak, which needs finding and repairing, not topping up
- Installation faults that need reworking
- Rooms that gain heat faster than any unit could cope with
If in doubt, ring us on 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form and we’ll say what we think.
