Honest limits

Air conditioning repair cannot fix everything, and we will tell you before work begins. It won’t put right:

  • A leak on an old R22 system
  • A unit whose parts are no longer made (replacement may be the only option)
  • No power to the building at all

If in doubt, give us a ring on 07833 053749 and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Parts of the system we cover

  • Ceiling cassettes
  • VRF systems
  • Heat pumps
  • Ducted systems
  • Multi-split systems
  • Wall-mounted split systems

System by system

Condensate drains and pumps

The drain is cleared, the pump tested and the fall checked, so the water goes where it should. Failed pumps are replaced and test it before we leave.

VRF systems

VRF systems link many indoor units to shared outdoor units, often across a whole building. We use the system’s fault history and codes, then test to confirm, and repairs are priced before they go ahead.

Questions from Essendon

Is Essendon in your area for air conditioning repair?

Yes, Essendon is within the area we cover. Tell us a little about the job and we will take it from there.

Is there an emergency air con repair line for Essendon?

Yes: ring the emergency line, day or night, from anywhere in Essendon. Say what the system is doing and whether it shows a code, and we’ll advise on the next step.

My system uses R410A. Can it still be repaired?

Yes. Repairing and recharging existing R410A systems is still legal. R410A is getting scarcer and dearer to buy as the GB phase-down tightens and we talk through repair against replacement for older systems.

Why isn’t my air con cooling?

It can be anything from a dirty filter to a refrigerant leak. Diagnosis confirms the cause, then give you a fixed price to fix it.

Can you set up regular servicing?

Yes. Send details of the systems and how they’re used and we will propose a schedule and quote for it. Leak checks required by the F-gas rules can be built in for larger systems.

How quickly will you reply?

We reply to enquiries the same working day. If it’s an emergency, ring the 24/7 line instead.

What does an air con repair cost?

Diagnosis call-outs start from £75 + VAT. Once we know the cause, you get a fixed price for the repair before any work goes ahead. The cost depends on the fault, the parts and access to the units.

Air conditioning repair in Essendon: the local picture

About 67% of homes in the Essendon area date from 1945 to 1972, according to VOA council tax data, and the last census (2021) found about 45% of households in terraced houses. With a terrace, access to the rear for the outdoor unit is the main thing to tell us. Essendon’s centre is no more than about a third of a mile from the Essendon Conservation Area. On the National Heritage List, around 23 entries fall within 0.5 miles of the middle of Essendon; Church of St Mary the Virgin (grade II*) is one. We keep it in mind in case a new outdoor unit is ever needed, as protected buildings can need consent for that.

If a system fails at a school such as Essendon CofE (VC) Primary School, our 24/7 line takes the call, and planned repairs can wait for the holidays. If the display shows a code, write it down: it helps narrow down the fault.

How the visit works

The visit goes in the diary at a time that works for you, and we keep you posted if anything changes. On arrival, the engineer compares the job with the survey, your pictures or the details you gave us. Anything unexpected is raised with you before we go further. From there, the work takes as long as the fault needs, from a quick fix to a return visit for parts. A note on how to find the property and where to park makes a visit to Essendon easier.

  1. You tell us the symptoms, the make and any error code.
  2. On the diagnosis visit, we test the electrics, airflow, drain and refrigerant.
  3. You get the cause explained and a fixed price for the repair.
  4. Once you are happy, the repair is done and any refrigerant work recorded.
  5. We test the system in operation and leave you a note of the fault and the fix.

Preparing for the visit

Why act early in Essendon

Small faults rarely stay small. A blocked drain becomes water damage, and a slow leak drains the refrigerant until the compressor is working far harder than it should and early diagnosis typically keeps the repair simpler. Waiting rarely makes an air conditioning problem smaller.

Typical ranges are on our prices page, but each job is priced on what it involves. Call for a fixed-price quote, and we’ll talk you through it.
